Re: Goose Island Black Friday & Bourbon County Stout
Brewed and Bottled is small, but with a mighty beer list. Lot's of local stuff, not as much from beyond NY state. I know many who love it, and always stop there in their "Buffalo" trips. I want to like it more, but have never felt comfortable enough staying for a pint. Not sure why. I usua...

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Agree sofaking,
The last couple times I had it, it was not up to par.
They didn't brew it last year, and this has been aged longer than in the past, so curious to see if it is back to the glory days.

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Visited the Etobicoke location on the weekend after seeing that Kentucky Bastard is back after going on hiatus last year. So this version has been aged ~2 years. It was already sold out when I got thee, but they admitted they had very few bottles compared to Burlington, and had asked for more to be ...

Re: Goose Island Black Friday & Bourbon County Stout
Funny enough, I pondered a trip to Buffalo this week, sort of forgetting it is Black Friday.
Not going to deal with that, but I did see Premier Gourmet said they will have 17 variations of BCS for sale. I imagine limited and a need to line up though.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I snagged one of the Carolus Blues as well, and the guy at the checkout said "Deja Vu!". Apparently, whoever was before me had just bought one too.
Was temped to buy two, but I resisted...I don't really stash/cellar beers anymore.

Re: Amsterdam - Calm before the Storm?
Ya, the regular tempest is a great no-adjunct, no-nonsense stout. I miss it too.
Well, without this or Goose Island, my lack of stout buying in November means...I'll buy a ticket to Indie Ale House's Stout Night in December!

Amsterdam - Calm before the Storm?
Anyone heard if they are doing a special night again before the release of Double Tempest?
I haven't even heard anything about Double Tempest this year.

Love this list!
A couple showing availability at a few LCBOs now, so hopefully this whole list trickles out before Xmas.
Love that barrel aged Chimay.

I miss the big Unibroue bottles too, we kind of get the mainstream Unibroue beers here now, while Quebec gets a nice Cellar Collection mix pack.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
Ya, Athletic ships form the US, so you won't get any of their special beers at grocery stores, etc. I've seen the core lineup on sale for $11/12 at some stores. You can get some of their special beers at a few online/NA shops, but mostly it's their limited editions that are worth buying on their sit...

Am I the only one who likes Lake of Bays beers, and their restaurants too? lol.
Two quite different breweries, hope they both do well going forward.

Re: Stepping away from beer reviews
I don’t believe in objective taste. All of my ratings are to my preference because I can’t do anything else. Though others can use apps for however they see fit. Good point. Melony IPAs are not what I like, but sometimes you don't know the profile of an IPA when you order it. When I rate those ones...

Re: Around the World Beer Trip...where would you go?
Funny, I totally forgot about starting this topic 10 years ago, haha. I actually did a round the world trip last year. Not so much for beer, but I sought out good beer places everywhere I went. that would be my main difference form 10 years ago: it seems there are beer options just about anywhere yo...

Loving all these suggestions!
There are a LOT of Ontario breweries I haven't visited yet, so it is quite possible I'll keep it more local, but we'll see...
