Awesome stuff, and great photos!
Even the crappy / average beer tastes better while on safari

Re: 100 Acre Brewing, Peterborough
100 Acres is a cool spot. Indoors was cozy and nice, but outdoors was vast, you can just stroll around while having your beer. Beers were solid, especially the double ipa, Painted. I quite liked their table beer too...cant remember the name of it. Go visit the new Canoe Museum in Peterborough and th...

Re: Cool India Brewing Company
I ordered 3 of their different beers from Mother India for to-go orders, when they were on Queen St W. They've had them there for a few years. Never saw them anywhere else other than Indian restaurants. Funny though, I only ever got the Asura (Premium pale Ale), even though I tried ordering the stro...

Re: Amsterdam - Calm before the Storm?
Relative to other comparable stouts I've had recently, the Double Tempest was quite good.
It's not exactly boozy, big and bold, but has some nice flavour depth. Better than Kentucky Bastard or Zombie Apocalypse, IMO.

Re: 2024 Winter Import LCBO Release
They were putting the Porter Baltique on the shelf when I was in Toronto at the store on Bloor Street near Bay. I still cannot call this one up on the website either by name or item number. I took the employee's advice and bought two. Nice one, I haven't seen it in stores near me, and it is not on ...

Re: The Growler Ontario Ending Publication
Sad news for sure. I'll admit it was always a bit too cerebral and industry focused to ever want to seek it out, but it was enjoyable enough to read when free copies were provided. Of all the lost craft beer resources (print or websites) in recent years I miss Canadian Beer News most, it was one tha...

No special event this year...but Double Tempest is out now!
I've got one ready to try later tonight.
Ramp myself up for Indie's Stout Night on Saturday, lol.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
Oh nice. I have only had Just the Haze once now, but a lot of people think it's a top NA beer. Blood Brothers has a new one out - a cherry, peach sour. If you liked their other sour NA beers you'll like this one for sure. Haven't been able to try any of the new ones on offer from Cowbell, Forked Riv...

Re: Goose Island Bourbon County Stouts
I wonder how banana-y the banana foster version is?
I've got a buddy whose favourite beer is a banana bread beer, so thought about getting him one.
Ah, link does not work anymore...guess it is sold out.

Nice!
Good to hear. So many small breweries doing great stouts now it is hard to understand big hype anymore.

Re: Good beers in Africa?
Congrats on a Africa trip! Kenya now has pretty good options for craft beer. 254 Brewing was mentioned already. The other big craft brewer I'd suggest is Bila Shaka. If you have a bit of free time, just Uber it to a taproom, or head to a Naivas (the biggest grocery store chain in Kenya). They'll hav...

Re: Goose Island Black Friday & Bourbon County Stout
Brewed and Bottled is small, but with a mighty beer list. Lot's of local stuff, not as much from beyond NY state. I know many who love it, and always stop there in their "Buffalo" trips. I want to like it more, but have never felt comfortable enough staying for a pint. Not sure why. I usua...

Agree sofaking,
The last couple times I had it, it was not up to par.
They didn't brew it last year, and this has been aged longer than in the past, so curious to see if it is back to the glory days.

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Visited the Etobicoke location on the weekend after seeing that Kentucky Bastard is back after going on hiatus last year. So this version has been aged ~2 years. It was already sold out when I got thee, but they admitted they had very few bottles compared to Burlington, and had asked for more to be ...
