Yeah that would be cool too.JerCraigs wrote:Something I would love to see is the ability to pre-order some of the one offs / new releases etc for pick up at this location vs trekking out to Etobicoke on transit.

Re: Great Lakes Brewpub (Queen's Quay / Jarvis)
I recall being told, perhaps incorrectly, that they had an octopus at the brewery. I always imagined it sneaking out at night for samples. :D I wouldn't put it past them to do that. I figure at some point the octopuses, dolphins and crows will get together at some point to devise a plan to get rid ...

Re: Philly Sour and Rhubarb
I've used the Philly Sour once so far. I brew 2.5 gallon batches and went with the recommendation on the packet scaling back as per my usual to half a packet. I later read significantly later after pitching that many people double up instead to achieve better results. So I added in the other half pa...

Re: Great Lakes Brewpub (Queen's Quay / Jarvis)
I hope this is better executed than the Amsterdam brewpub. Yeah have some of the flagship beers on, hopefully brought in from the main facility, while the on-premises equipment should be used for experimentation (and be well stocked!) and anything that proves popular scale up for broader distributio...

Re: Ontario will allow restaurants to sell takeout liquor, wine and beer
I'm hoping it sticks around too. Though the food requirement is silly. Much like before some of the liquor law changes from a few years ago when bars had to make available food for purchase. T&M made available frozen dinners for $20 which of course no one bought. I recall Black Dice doing someth...

Re: Ontario will allow restaurants to sell takeout liquor, wine and beer
Bar Hop is on DoorDash. Currently 25-30% off says their Instagram. I do hope the industry manages to convince the powers that be to keep this going after the COVID-19 stuff is (mostly) done. Bars should be allowed bottles, cans and growlers of draft for sale to go. Of course all these progressive ch...

Re: Bar Volo 2.0
This is a pet peeve of mine. When I ask what the rotating tap selection is I want to know the brewery and either the beer name or the style. Don't ask me what style I like. Don't mumble a couple of brewery names and that's it or "Oh a saison, a sour, ..." The most recent time this happened...

Re: Cask Days 2019
Overall a good time during session one on Friday with early access. I wish there were a few more whacky beers. Was social for once and chatted with some nice people at our table. Much like bars with bar service, at events like this PEOPLE NEED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY AFTER GETTING THEIR BEER!!! Like v...

...the new LC on Spadina and Front. This expansive new store in a slightly less useful location ... Has this replaced the store at King/Spadina? Yes. The K&S building is coming down for a condo. The S&F location isn't so bad. The space is nice. Lots of good beer. The whisky, particularly bo...

Bar Volo 2.0
The girlfriend and I stopped in for a pint during our Nuit Blanche romp on Saturday. The space looks really nice. It's divided into two. The main area with the bar and seating and towards the back on the left additional seating and standing areas plus the washrooms. Similar A-Z taps as before and up...

Re: Lervig House Party @ Dine Alone Records
Sigh. As usual with most events the beer list isn't posted.
Am I just supposed to have blind faith there there'll be beers there that I'll want to have?

Ah well. I was lukewarm on the bourbon I added to the order to get over the $50 hump. Guess I'll just ignore the pick up email and get the refund.

Cantillon Gueuze Lambic
Did anyone get any Cantillon Gueuze Lambic that was available on lcbo.com? I put in an order back when it was announced, bought two bottles and now I got an email from the LCBO that I'm not getting any bottles of it.

Re: Talk or Action?
Next up, loosen up the idiocy around how alcohol is imported into the province. Whether the LCBO makes it easier or if individual store owners can bypass the whole LCBO process. on the federal level, the new legislation to allow all alcohol between provinces should help? Sure, that too. But I'm tal...
