Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

“Beer and wine is also a no-brainer for them. It’s a $100-million opportunity for Canadian restaurants, and it appeals to Starbucks’ core customer (women) because it’s not the bar scene,” said Carter

Really? Tell the women I know who think this is a silly notion

Can I just say...

Just realized I joined the BT forum in 2005 and I just wanted to say what a great web-portal this has become for beer folk over the years. I first joined to access the Homebrewers forum and in time, went from a kit-brewer to a fairly decent masher thanks to fellow homebrewers. Since then I've learne...

Hmmm... there isn't 1 Ontario brew available at the LCBO that couldn't make the summer drinking list?

A chilled Lugtread on a summer day tastes perfectly fine to me. I, too, would be happy to buy more Beua's but does the price tag justify the means? A bottle of Lugtread in a 4-pack works out to 3.96 a bottle. Very reasonable. Adding up all their other offerings, the average price is almost double at...

Funny, I kept thinking of a weaker version of a Fuller's London Pride.

I would still prefer to support a local guy making a so-so ale as opposed to buying macro Would you still support a local guy making a so-so beer over a less local guy making world class beer though? Considering our proximity to some world class brews, this is the real question I think. Sorry, for ...

Enjoyed the article Chris. Thanks for posting. Is it possible that as our selection and variety of beer increases we only naturally become more discerning of the taste of what we are buying? If I ask "where do you want to go for a burger" as opposed to asking "where do you want to go ...

Visited over the holidays and I will definitely be back. For the beer list, a relatively safe list; roughly 30 bottles and 6 taps of local + Anchor Liberty & Steam and Magic Hat (and a tap of Coors Lite, Heineken, and Pabst as emergency back-up I suppose). Talking to the Bar staff they seem to b...

Funny you should mention this. I bought the Bellhaven pack as I've enjoyed the Twisted singles previously and I wanted to try the Stout. I could have sworn 1 of the 2 Twisted bottles was mis-labeled as it did not taste how I remember or expected.

The other bottle did taste as I had expected.
