Rhubarb/Boshkung is on the northeast corner of 35 and 118. The brewery is downstairs. Got a growler of Kellerbier when I was there. Quite palatable. Pretty much just a storefront. HH is further east along 118 - toward Haliburton. It's down a funny, new-looking gravel road off to the right. It's a ve...

Yep. And you can taste it in their tasting room.

There are more beers on the way, but right now they are stocking up on the hefe. They opened with only the hefe because the hefe is ready now.

Smithworks Brewing Company

There is a new microbrewery in the original Kawartha Lakes Brewery site in Peterborough. It just opened last week, and right now they're only making a hefeweizen. A very, very solid, bottle-conditioned, hefeweizen. No food right now, just a store and a very nice tasting room, which offers a clear vi...

Scott Wood was also involved in opening The Olde Stone and St. Veronus if I'm not mistaken.

I had a guy (American) not send anything at all. My own stupid fault for shipping first, as he had no trade history. Fortunately, all I sent him were some Mill Streets and DDC and that sort. I also had a broken bottle arrive in a trade from Denmark. The way it was packed I'm surprised the whole thin...

If I can't get a pint, I at least want one of those glasses.

(And Mr. Dickenson is looking remarkably distinguished these days. Anyone remember his appearance on "Toronto Rocks"?)

Really liked the Strong Patrick. It wouldn't be much of a beer without the whiskey barrel, but it's not without the whiskey barrel, so that's irrelevant. One of Beau's better bottled offerings, in my opinion. And as an aside, I don't drink much Lug Tread, but I've never had an off bottle. It's not g...

He'brew Jewbelation Sweet Sixteen

Holy crap! This is a big beer! It's almost an Impy Stout, but the lack of roast is noticeable. It's almost an ASA (Ratebeer lists it this way), but the maltses overwhelms the hopses. Enough booze to be a barleywine, but too much caramalt. It's complex, but everything is in balance, including the boo...

I remember throwing a ball around the parking lot at Edenfest in '95 or '96, when this clearly underaged, clearly hammered couple stumbled up to us, carrying a styrofoam cooler. They stopped, professed their undying love for Canadian beer, and told us that we could have whatever was left in the cool...

Was in Niagara Falls for a hockey tournament with one of my boys. I had a little free time, so I headed over and hit up the Consumers, which is about 10 minutes from the Rainbow Bridge. I was gone about half an hour, and got 24 beer. Coming back: Border girl: Do you have anything to declare? Me: Yep...
