Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?
Currently sipping on a 3moon Left Hand Path(mosiac). It’s very very good. Admittedly, I’m a bit of a mosiac whore, but this is a delicious beer. Nice white grapefruit pith and pomelo flavours up front, some mulberry kicking around in there and a solid bitter finish. This is the second of the Left Ha...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Goodlot-Top of the morning stout..... canning date, November ‘23 Do you (or others) feel 'freshness' matters so much with a stout? I know it can make a difference with hoppy beers, but I've never thought there was much concern with other styles. I don’t feel “freshness” is such a big deal with stou...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Goodlot-Top of the morning stout. Really quite underwhelming. Generally what I’ve had from Goodlot is very middle of the road, so not really surprised. After drinking, I checked the canning date, November ‘23 Merit-Young Rival ipa. I havn’t had this in probably 7 years or so, I was surprised to see ...

Re: Short Finger Brewing
They do great stuff. I’d agree with Mathew and Sammy, neck and neck with Sparrow for best brewery in the area now. Shortfinger does more unique stuff by a long shot though.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Sparrow’s Sir Richard’s Wobbly pop Pilsner. On the higher end of abv for a pils(5.9) and more bitter than most. I really enjoy the ramped up bitterness. I had this when they first opened(pandemic times…mid 2020) and I seem to think I enjoyed it a lot more, not sure if it’s changed or it’s just me. S...

I miss Goose Island Sofie. I’d love them to bring that back to lcbo.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Recently a good amount of Royal City Station Stout. A nitro stout, no widget. Sticker on the can advising to shake before opening, and pour aggressively. Nice creamy body with a beautiful cascade on the aggressive pour. Milk chocolate and mocha flavours for the most part. I think I’d prefer it a tou...

I’d visit if I was in the area.

Quite surprise to see Bellwoods Greenbelly TIPA in the LCBO. I don’t tend to get behind tipas as they’re usually too seeet for me. Had a Greenbelly a couple years back though and it’s one of the very few I enjoyed.

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Have to admit I've pretty much given up on Nickel Brook. Too bad as I enjoyed them back in the day. Something seems off now, though. I’m kind of the same opinion….i tend to just gloss over them if I’m in the LCBO grabbing stuff. Unlike most, I was never a big headstock guy to begin with. All this b...

I think I'll have to do a taste test for WC IPAs and WC DIPAs when I finish my current non-alcoholic binge, lol. Wonder if Bellwoods will ever re-do the original Witchshark recipe? Sure hope so. The new versions isn’t a patch on the original. Although, to be fair I havnt had Witchshark in 3-4 years...

Re: Royal City
As expected, the Godspeed/De La Senne collab was the standout. Incredibly clean and crisp with a light Smokey finish. Not surprised at all that the keg was gone before the end of the first night. True History was also really really good along with the Sonnen Hill. Goodlot’s Pilsner really hit the sp...
