Re: What're you drinking right now?

Yes it's the 'double' NE version. I'm having another one now, and I'm not picking up on the sweetness mentioned. And I'm sensitive to that. I much prefer my beers quite dry. This certainly doesn't have the offensive treacle notes of some Scotch ales or dopplebocks, if that's what you are describing...

Re: Happy Holidays!

With the City of Toronto having been teasing/trolling us for the last few years about beer gardens in parks, I've been thinking of some beautiful locations in our ravines to propose. Not all tree covered, mind you, there are also some great lookout locations. There are obviously some great candidate...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I snagged a 10w30 (and a 666) for old times sake when I was in the LCBO recently. I wonder if they've tweaked this over the years? It's pretty darn good, I could drink more of these. I'm ashamed to say that the few times I've seen these on the shelf I've thought to myself. "Wow, they still mak...

Re: Montreal

Hey all. Can anyone recommend bottle shop in Montreal or Quebec City where i can grab some local QC beer? Is Depanneur Peluso still the place to go? Heading there tomorrow! Suggestions I have learned from this forum and tried and enjoyed before the plague are: https://fromagerieatwater.ca Recommend...

Probably another good reason to keep this off Factlessbook.

Re: Ontario Brewing Awards 2021

This list makes me think of those programs that were fun many years ago where you type in a random word and it generates a band and album name out of gibberish. In this case it's a brewery and a beer name. Hours of fun. I mean, Granite Brewery and Restaurant? Oktoberfest? Clifford Brewing? Who makes...

Folks, take your pick!
Can you rename it "Daytime Drinking" and "Nighttime Drinking"? :D

Re: What to do with the Bar Towel Forums?

I assume there are no functional or significant layout changes, but I haven't looked close enough. I generally prefer the white background, especially on smaller screens. Even if it's change for some change and just creating a fresh look, I support it. On the topic of smaller screens, I don't use a ...

OK now you are just trolling us. I usually hit up Benelux on Sherbrooke because I stay near there. It looks like the Wellington location has food options (beyond chips and hot dogs), is it worth going the extra distance for their offerings? That Koln club looks interesting, do they brew on lo...

Re: Beau's and Steam Whistle Form Alliance

In the early days Beau's really worked hard to build their brand awareness, as did Steamwhistle. I'm sure they spent big too. Both really don't come to mind that much anymore, I guess this might be a way for them to economize on building some of that back. Didn't Steamwhistle do some sort of similar...

Re: Great Lakes

The Lake Effect I have been buying over the last couple weeks is in very good form. My memory might not be as good anymore, but it seems to be there with the best of the past years. I think it was only last year when I think it was not quite there. Keep in mind, we are still talking about an agricul...

Thirsty & Miserable

    I am saddened to hear this place is closing by end of year. I'm also surprised not to see an entry for them here, so to show some respect, I am creating one. Yes it's a dive, yes there is no food (it`s surrounded by fabulous takeout they `let`you bring in if you are respectfu...

Re: Montreal

I have some accounts I visit right near L'Amère à Boire, and it makes a great place for an end of day stop because it's quiet and I can take a few people out for beers and snacks and actually be able to have a discussion. The tiny patio is an extra bonus in warm weather. A few years back they had a ...
