I'm guessing they are making their money back on the adult diapers to go with this.

Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?

I got some of GLB's limited 2010 West Coast IPA and it's a nice nostalgia trip. I'm looking forward to Lake Effect season. It's been great the past few years.

Re: Beer at Ontario Costcos

It will be interesting to see what they offer. Doesn't the new regulation state a certain percentage has to be Ontario craft? I've seen 60 packs of swill in Quebec stores. I don't recall if I even looked at the price. Honestly, the only real "convenience" for me would be if/when they accep...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I finally tried this. It's a nice beeeg beer, but for my taste a bit too sweet. Still, seems very well crafted. Especially for the price.

It might sounds dismissive, but I could see myself cooking with this. So many dishes where this would be a great contribution.

Re: Stepping away from beer reviews

To clarify, my comment isn't directed at whether you are being competitive. It is more about ranking creative things. I love the reviews, even though I have never really followed those sites, I love learning about the beers and have probably seen many useful comments from them when searching a new o...

Must be where the Leaside beer person went. Only to be replaced by an alchopop person.

Re: Stepping away from beer reviews

Interesting stats. It looks like you're not much of a lager guy. :P Personally I have never done any beer rating and I'm not sure I have even looked at any of these. I have appreciated Bar Towel and like sites much more as they are about sharing tips and discovery. Beer rating kind of comes of like ...

Re: Bar Hop 2 (Peter St)

I hope the location doesn't peter out (sorry). It's off my beaten track more and more, but I do go out of my way to visit. Especially the patio. I think the challenge for the inside spaces has always been the noise level, but it's hard to ascertain whether that's why attendance is down.

Re: UK pint talk

Agreed on both points. Standardize so people can be better informed when comparing prices, or even deciding if they have had enough. Restaurant food portions are comically stupid. Have you ever seen anybody eat the pound or more fries as a side to other things as one usually gets served? Even if peo...

Re: Beer in Convenience Stores coming early

The only thing I ever use convenience stores for is ice a couple of times a year. I’m not fundamentally against beer in these stores, but it’s no benefit to me. Since my teacher is chronically underpaid and my school is falling apart and I can no longer go shoot up in safety, this is probably a goo...

Re: Thirsty & Miserable

I went this past Saturday. Bar at the front with stools and seating at the back. The usual music on and not that loud too, which is always nice. Two unisex washrooms on the main floor. Six taps with I presume four more on the way at some point (based on the unused tap fridge further down the bar.) ...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

It's $330 USD ($444.44 CAD) at Premier Gourmet. That seems like a price in order to keep it in stock so they can say they have it. Could very well be. Also some people who view things as more expensive = more good. I'm looking to go to Buffalo/Niagara in the next little bit so I'll see if it's behi...

Re: Good news from your Premier!

I got no problem with the outcome. I have a big problem with this being used as a big populist stunt/distraction, when these "folks" should be getting real work done. Especially not wasting this kind of money to accelerate an inevitable outcome just so they can goose their election campaig...
