Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

I haven't had a Tankhouse in a while. I know the recipe changed and noticed it, but it wasn't that problematic to me. What I have noticed is more of it never being fresh. When I have had it, always on tap, it just seemed off. It's strange to me, since a large brewer would probably expect their licen...

Re: Bloomex Beer Club Delivery

Never heard of them. Selection looks underwhelming. I'm lucky that I can't throw an empty beer can around me without hitting an LCBO that probably has most of these beers. (Centre of the Universe problem, I know). These clubs interest me more if they get me access to hard to find beers. I suppose th...

Here is the wisdom for this week. https://arstechnica.com/health/2025/03/large-study-shows-drinking-alcohol-is-good-for-your-cholesterol-levels/ And you think Trump's brain flutters like a spastic moth... Moderate drinking is good for you! Wait, alcohol at any amount is bad for you! Actually, drink...

Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars

Let's imagine this for a moment. Remember Canada Post? Forever looking for ways to stay relevant? How about this. I, Ontario consumer, order a case of wine from BC. Said case is consigned to Canada Post (bonded?) without BC excise taxes, as it is not being delivered in BC. Canada Post adds their fee...

Something just seems unwise about branding a brewery with a name containing pis.

Re: beer (alcohol) and health

I only seek health advice on tiktoc. I'm kind of fortunate in that I generally crave healthier foods. I don't really go out of my way to obsess over my diet. I too eat oatmeal almost daily, but it's becasue I like it and find it a comforting start to my day. Same with fruits and vegetables. I ...

In Hamilton I guess I can see the value in this. In Toronto, I'm fine with the tap water  .

Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars

I'm a bit confused about the various issues here. If I recall, the few out of province brewers that engaged to sell in Ontario largely gave up due to byzantine LCBO regulations, not so much shipping or tariff costs. So let's deconstruct: Tariffs should go away if we have a Canada wide trade agreemen...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I just finished my annual dryuary, so I'm drinking every thing I can find. There was some interesting stuff under the kitchen sink last night. Sorry about the typos, my vision seems a little less than perfect... While 'organizing'* the cold cellar I found a bottle of Brooklyn chocolate stout from 20...

Re: Beer Additions and Possible Sacrilege

Years ago I was introduced to a range of beer cocktails. These were described to me by the host as traditional concoctions, not some new trend, though I recall recently hearing the idea may be making a comeback. The only one I really enjoyed and therefore committed to memory was Duvel with a shot of...
