Re: Aging canned Unibroue vs bottled
If anything cans will retain a fresher, or closer to canning date flavour than bottles and should remain drinkable as long or even longer. Downside is generally some of the changes attributed to aging in bottles, especially that sherry-like result of slow oxidation may not happen; or will take far ...

Re: Best Ontario pilsners
Funny timing on this post. I just took delivery of some Great Lakes Euro Pils, brewed with Amsterdam. Not a classic Pils in my opinion and pretty (maybe very) aggressive on the hops and dryness, but that's quite far up my alley, so I'm really liking it. I think it's only available for brewery pick u...

Re: Best Happy Hour Deals in Ontario (Ongoing)
For those uptown, Function Bar at Y&E has $7.50 pints with a good interesting selection on Friday and Saturday happy hour. Regular prices are a bit steep (isn't it everywhere now?), but their food prices and offerings seem very fair. I wish they were open Mondays, as that would be the perfect ni...

Re: Best Happy Hour Deals in Ontario (Ongoing)
The Pint by the convention centre on Front St. used to have some decent weeknight happy hour prices and a good selection. I haven't been in a while, so it might have changed. Their regular prices were not that bad either. The place can get a bit loud though.

I discovered Northern Lights Hazy IPA last week. Very nice.
I don't think I have seen it available around Toronto.

Re: Ben Johnson's Beer & Bullshit
Thanks I will dip into this. I was following his blog for a while but it appears to have gone on ice. I just chalked it up to lots of personal COVID era projects that people moved on from. I'm not disparaging here, it and others are clearly passion projects and that's great. Personally, I'm not in t...

Enjoying Great Lakes current 7 Barrel Series Flight HBC 1019.
A very nice bright and refreshing take on NEIPA. I have found too many beers in this style to just be acrid. This one is good and clean. Well done!

Also Pohjala, do go. We didn't do the sauna thing but the whole facility is fantastic. In fact I can't recommend Tallinn enough, a gorgeous city and a seemingly underrated country in general. Lots of very good local breweries and craft imports too; I was impressed for such a small country, they pun...

Re: Beer Spa
Yeah, golf or fishing would help get my attention, but chilling by a lake also works for me. Thing is, my mom lives on a lake, so I can always go chill there and I've set her up with a kegerator and keep it stocked up with homebrew. (most of the time when her friends don't clear it out too fast. LOL...

Re: Beer Spa
I know someone who does contracting up in that area and flagged this place with me just before they opened. He thought it has a lot of promise, but he did mention he felt the beer was pretty uninspired. I'm not sure if he did any work there or just got a sneak peak. The beer could have improved sinc...
