Re: The Beer Store Changes Pricing Displays
It would seem to me a rather clever way to stir the pot for the TBS is if they showed both prices. They must have enough room on the labels. Then, instead of having an irritating conversation with a customer at checkout, they could call out the extra charges and educate.

Re: Toby's Pub - College St.
I often wonder if I would like it as much if I had a chance to try it all these years later. I think about that very thing from time to time about the beers that I first had when I was getting into beer, namely the slate from Upper Canada. Those and the unique beers from the old Niagara Falls Brewi...

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?
I had never paid much attention to the delivery side, save that no one, but no one, waits around for a signature from an individual of 19 years or older... A while back I was dog sitting (he's not 19) and he bolted out the back door when he heard a vehicle pull up. It wasn't beer, but a Purolator e...

Re: Toby's Pub - College St.
Toby was the gateway beer! On to Conner's, Upper Canada, Creemore, Brick... Kind of like what Tankhouse was at one point before it became undrinkable. It sure was! It was the only non-crap on tap at the Queen's U. grad house in the early 80s, for example, before Conner's or U.C. even existed. My me...

The delightful GLB delivery driver brought me some 2024 Lake Effect yesterday. It's in good form this year.

Toby was the gateway beer! On to Conner's, Upper Canada, Creemore, Brick... Kind of like what Tankhouse was at one point before it became undrinkable. Funny, it was a short while ago I had a beer with a decidedly 'non-craft' beer person. As they sipped a Galactic at the Granite they commented on how...

The Rhino
The sad news about Squirlys got me thinking. It's been a while since I've been to the Rhino. I tried to search for a thread on them (I'm sure it exists, but it must be 70 pages deep). Anybody been in a while? How are they doing?
Another soft spot for me. I gotta get out more...

I got some of GLB's limited 2010 West Coast IPA and it's a nice nostalgia trip. I'm looking forward to Lake Effect season. It's been great the past few years.

Re: Beer at Ontario Costcos
It will be interesting to see what they offer. Doesn't the new regulation state a certain percentage has to be Ontario craft? I've seen 60 packs of swill in Quebec stores. I don't recall if I even looked at the price. Honestly, the only real "convenience" for me would be if/when they accep...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I finally tried this. It's a nice beeeg beer, but for my taste a bit too sweet. Still, seems very well crafted. Especially for the price.
It might sounds dismissive, but I could see myself cooking with this. So many dishes where this would be a great contribution.

Re: Stepping away from beer reviews
To clarify, my comment isn't directed at whether you are being competitive. It is more about ranking creative things. I love the reviews, even though I have never really followed those sites, I love learning about the beers and have probably seen many useful comments from them when searching a new o...
