Re: Beer at Ontario Costcos
So I haven't found too much yet about price and selection, but Dougie had a little photo op in a Costco and it looks like the Muskoka mixed 24 is $39.99; granted there's tax to be added, but that's still about $45 all in- so not bad. Michelob pricing appears to be about 3 bucks better than the Beer...

Beer at Ontario Costcos
Thought I would start a new thread on this. Josh reports today that all Ontario Costcos will start selling beer this week: https://www.thestar.com/business/costco-jumps-into-beer-and-wine-as-retail-booze-sales-expand-in-ontario/article_aacce3da-956b-11ef-b93a-5f6a373aec65.html I have to say I'm some...

Barton Village, Hamilton
Thought I'd share some updates about Barton Village in Hamilton. I was out and about exploring yesterday and there's some cool new stuff on Barton St. There's Mosaic, the beer bar that closed and re-opened, supposedly with a slimmed down ownership group. It's got about a dozen or so beers on tap and...

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?
Buying one brings the fun of having a mystery beer, with upside risk of getting things you like and perhaps couldn't get otherwise, and downside risk of getting something you don't like. Totally. The Brock St. one I got at the start of the thread I enjoyed just for that, to see what I would get eve...

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?
I've been getting emails from Craft Beer Imports for their advent calendar, this year's features "24 travel-inspired craft beers from 5 different countries, never-before sold in Canada." I was admittedly curious because of the uniqueness element, but I'm not sure I can justify the $160 bu...

Re: Anyone get a beer advent calendar?
Looks like Brock St. is doing it again, on sale for $89.99 which isn't a bad deal: https://advent.brockstreetbrewing.com/products/adventcalendar I am on CA's mailing list and saw theirs too. I think it's a fun idea and was certainly apt for pandemic times, but not sure if I would go through all that...

Re: Windsor-Essex County Beer Enthusiasts, Unite!
I have never thought of Windsor as a craft beer destination, but these posts would be enough for me to visit and see what's up. For a really long time Windsor was just the place you drove past on your way to the border/Detroit, so it's encouraging to hear a beer scene has finally developed there. L...

Re: Windsor-Essex County Beer Enthusiasts, Unite!
A couple of notes about Windsor: both Craft Heads and Phog are moving from downtown to Erie St. They're actually going in side-by-side in a new plaza build that is across the parking lot from WindsorEats Food Hall. So that'll make for a pretty nice three-pack of spots all right there together. Soun...

Re: Goose Island Black Friday & Bourbon County Stout
Would be nice to have it come back, it was a fun event. Looking back they announced the '22 news on Nov 10th, so perhaps it is still a bit early. They'd most certainly know if there would be an LCBO release due to the lead times, but likely the info wouldn't make it to the servers & bartenders. ...

Re: Windsor-Essex County Beer Enthusiasts, Unite!
Thanks for the notes! A fairly epic trip to Windsor Essex as the tourism board shuttled me around to see lots of stuff. Visits included: Windsor: Chapter Two, Walkerville, Sandwich, Erie St. Gastropub, Cookie Bar, Phog, Craft Heads, The Vic, Dominion House, WindsorEats Food Hall Amherstburg: Lot 10,...

Re: Cleveland and surrounding area
First of a few episodes from Cleveland coming from A Quick Beer! I split the conversation I did with Great Lakes into two parts, here's the first one: https://youtu.be/XM7V15iIB5w The episode about the broader scene will be really good so consider this a Cleveland appetizer! Sorry Ontario GLB if you...

Unexpected combo but why not. Hope things stay as-is in Hamilton as I enjoy Merit's taproom and it's a regular visit.distr0 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 5:14 pm Lake of Bays merging with Merit

Re: Cask Days 2024
A good time as usual at Cask Days. Saw lots of familiar faces from the local beer scene so nice to see and catch up with a lot of folks.
They had a little extra space on the patio which was nice. Great weather on Friday when I went so was a pleasant time all around.
