Re: Stone goes to Sapporo
I'd love to have Arrogant Bastard available again, still nothing quite like it locally. Unibroue and Anchor product quality hasn't seem to slide under Sapporo ownership, I imagine the same will be true for Stone. Granted it's a fair point that it didn't seem to help with Ontario distribution in Anc...

Re: Kensington Brewery
Thanks for the tip. I've been a few times and it's always been a good visit. And lots of other stuff around the area too.

Re: Stone goes to Sapporo
If this means we see Stone being brewed in Guelph to the same standard as what I've experienced from Stone's products, at a lower price point than Stone imported, I said "giddy-up!" I would definitely agree, however Sapporo has for a few years owned Anchor in San Francisco and they went a...

I can’t say I’m surprised at any acquisition anymore, this one included.

Re: Portland, ME
Thinking of taking the I-90 and I-95 on our way to Portland, but I'd be open to the 401/Montreal route if people have found that faster. Awesome, that trip will be a lot of fun - envious! This is certainly not faster, but I would table for consideration the Cornwall -> Plattsburgh Ferry across Lake...

Re: Portland, ME
Amazing! That will be a lot of fun. I've only been to Portland once for an afternoon - I spent a week in Kennebunkport and couldn't get away for a bigger explore. However, I did go to Allagash which is 1000% a must-visit. One of the best tour experiences I've had. Granted, I had the "industry&q...

Re: Pedal Pubs in Toronto
Well, back to the original topic of this thread - today the council approved pedal pubs, with no alcohol. Holyday voted against it. He really does seem to be against anything remotely fun.

Re: Montreal
I'm finally going to shed my baby/chicken legs and do some intercity travel. I plan to be in Montreal next week and my schedule should allow for at least one late afternoon into evening of beer exploration. I have many favourites, but the world has changed so much in the last two years. Any suggest...

Re: Pedal Pubs in Toronto
Canadian cities are legalizing alcohol in parks. Some are celebrating, others worry it's a slippery slope After hearing Holyday at the council debate about this, I believe he's simply a contrary opinion to fulfill a "both sides" requirement for this article. He doesn't want it and it isn'...

Toronto Craft Beer Festival
I'm not sure if I have heard of this event before, it says since 2016 but I don't recall seeing much about them. So much of this is what I can't stand about festivals...high ticket prices (it costs more to guarantee entry, the basic ticket is subject to capacity!), only token sampling, no kids allow...

Re: Pedal Pubs in Toronto
I watched a maddening Toronto council debate and Josh's drinking in parks failed. It was replaced by a motion from Tory to talk about it again in 2023. There were some truly wild points made by councillors, such as Denzil MW saying that the folks that will truly suffer are the ones living next to pa...

Re: Pedal Pubs in Toronto
An article today in the Star about Toronto's ongoing obsession with not doing anything when it comes to alcohol outdoors.

Re: Pedal Pubs in Toronto
I suppose somewhat related to this is Josh Matlow bringing back the idea to allow drinks in parks. I'm happy he tries but can't help but think it will die again...
