Once again I have to ask: why is Hallowe'en on the LCBO's beer calendar but not Oktoberfest?

Can someone please recommend a bottled readily-available-in-Ontario Oktoberfest-style beer?

The Koningshoeven gift box came in a master carton which was "oversized" and deemed unacceptable to the LCBO's warehouse. Unlike, say, that honking Blue/Leffe/whatever the other crappy beer was pack? Or the Grolsch massive bottle? St. Bernardus switched from a 5 bottle gift box to one wit...

In Quebec they enjoy "smoked meat sandwiches", which might put me in the mood... I am open about trying it, just as I am any beer. Bit like a rollercoaster, the hard part is getting on board in the first place. I hope! At one time Montreal smoked meat sandwiches may very well have been sm...

McAuslin Scotch Ale at the LCBO

The Cooper Street LCBO has cannisters of McAuslin Scotch Ale on the shelves at $4.95 for 341mL.

I used to really enjoy this beer when it was available in sixes at a more modest price. I hope they have kept the same recipe.

I was on the phone the other day with my brother who lives in Calgary, and from the sounds of it the amount of good beer available there is superior to what we get here.

The last couple of times i have had it at the Rex i was very disappointed. Nothing like i remember from a few years back, i don't know if its my memories that are flawed, or its the beer, but i didn't enjoy it. I think that's just The Rex, aka what I describe as "the place where beer tastes li...

My local used to have tons of it, now it's all gone. Thankfully I had been collecting it throughout the winter.

I scooped up the 2nd last 6 of La Fin Du Monde.

I haven't had an eisbock for a while due to previous disappointments.

I thought I read somewhere that Moosehead is moving NFB to Brampton. If true there could be more uncertainty about the beers.

I have to say that one of my best beer experiences was in Cayo Guillermo and the beer was canned dunkle from Rostock, Germany. I'm not so sure I would have appreciated the beer quite as much at home, but after half a week of lying on the beach and drinking watery Cuban beer, it was an absolute godse...
