Re: spectrum now missing its low end

I had their Kellerbier at Bar Hop last night... I hope they continue to tune this one up... Ahh the Momiji. Will have to see what's in cans at the shop right now. ... seems like solid sessionable beers are what Bim is aiming for. Albeit, served in smaller glasses that are normally associated with s...

Personally I'll be spending my Harvest Ale money on Karma Citra while it's here. More than consolation enough in my books.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I'd be interested in your review of the Harvest Ale once you have cracked it. My recollection is that I've really enjoyed it some years and others not so much. Sadly I've got to echo the disappointment that a lot of others here have found. One word for this iteration: bubblegum. Very strange fruity...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Well, judged as a "hop-forward" American IPA, this was my impression of the 2017 Harvest Ale. I stopped drinking after taking the picture (and still had about a quarter of the can left), as it was difficult to get through. So disappointing. Ouch, that sucks. I hate when breweries complete...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

The brewery description for this year's version sounds promising. Also interesting that they are calling this a "hop-forward" American IPA. Always thought of it as a cross between an APA and ESB, or North American-style ESB. But it looks like the 2017 is paler , and at ~7% the IPA descrip...

I agree, despite being one of my most anticipated there have been one or two years when I wasn't as impre...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Muskoka Harvest Ale is back and is in cans this time 'round, which I anticipated since they've moved most of their lineup to cans. Always been a favourite of mine, and apparently this year it's been made with 100% Ontario ingredients for the first time. Shinnicked Stout is returning as well, along w...

It's been available at the Leaside LCBO for the past couple weeks. Their stock is listed at only 4 left, but I see lots available at Summerhill and Queens Quay.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Black Oak's 10 Bitter Years is coming to the LCBO in cans, changing from the bomber format. I rarely see it in stock, but apparently it's still around in the 650 ml bottles. It rates very favourably and I recall enjoying it, but haven't had it in a while. Seems like a good opportunity to revisit, ho...

BRUNSWICK BIER WORKS INC | Weihenstephan Vitus | 3.95 | 500 | 7.7 Brewed in Toronto? Same thing with Omnipollo I believe. That's the Craft Brand Co. guys - they're contract brewing their repped brands locally at their own brewery. So is $3.95 expensive then? Or a deal? What did it go for when it wa...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I've had a decent amount of the new limburg blond....it's not a style I generally go for, but this is a really nice beer. I picked up their Wit on the weekend(also a style I'm not huge on) and like it a lot. Less sweet than most wit beers, actually quite dry with a. Nice minerality to it. Reminded ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

It's funny I have been craving lagers recently. There comes a point this season where I get soured and hopped out. Sometime I just want something crisp and easy, and maybe something I can mix with some decent ginger beer into a shandy. Mountain Lagers been pretty good, but it's not pils. (Last tang...

Re: Godspeed Brewery

Call it like you see it. Beer is average at best. Ignore his history or cache and go based on the current offerings. His IPA was shitty and a smoked Saison sounds pretty ungood. This is just a weird project and even worse than that, no one is calling a spade a spade. So many Toronto beer "writ...

Re: Growlers at TBS

How is Detour $5+ more than all the others? How is Goose IPA cheaper than Coors Banquet? I can just imaging the looks on TBS staff' s faces when they learned of this initiative. This is truly laughable. It's a complete joke, that's nearly $20 for a 6-pack equivalent of Detour (1.89 L fills I believ...
