Re: Godspeed Brewery
Call it like you see it. Beer is average at best. Ignore his history or cache and go based on the current offerings. His IPA was shitty and a smoked Saison sounds pretty ungood. This is just a weird project and even worse than that, no one is calling a spade a spade. So many Toronto beer "write...

Haha...you got the wrath of atomeyes, who pretty much comes across as a total douchebag in 95% of his posts here. With the passing away of Peter from Esprit, I believe he actually holds that official title now. as you can imagine, your opinion means little to me. Phew! i'm glad you glossed over me ...

Re: Godspeed Brewery
Yup, managed to get through all three during my Canada Day evening. Although nothing is experimental or progressive, everything is beautifully true to style. A note, the IPA is much more British influenced, so although has a nice amount of dankness, it is pretty malt forward. I've come across disap...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
To me the Jelly King is a lot more 'fresh' and sessionable, so there's little comparison in style. We are so lucky to have Jelly and Ju Tsu locally on tap. Jacobins and Duchesse are great but they are not as much my thing... but are so reasonably-priced they could be used for a Belgian Carbonnade b...

Re: Did Bellwoods go too far with PG
I loved the shit out of pineapple milk shark.....bummed I can't make it anytime soon to get the guava. If it's even close to the pineapple then I'd dig it. There was just enough of an IPA backbone for me, and that backbone was outstanding, with everything else just taking it up another notch IMO th...

Re: Did Bellwoods go too far with PG
what does "beer" taste like or what should it taste like?
no surprise, but i think you're pretty off. Milkshark guava is great and it's as advertised. a really nice IPA with a lactose sweetness, great mouthfeel and nice bitter followthrough.
Cherry Jelly King, on the other hand....

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
The graphic is meant to compare the beer favourably to the image of the woman. Something like the unapologetic and unrestrained flavours being akin to a beautiful woman burlesque-dancing in her underwear, or something. You are the one that came up with 'whore', and who seems to think these labels w...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario
I'm not even sure what this is all about, oh ya "sexism in beer labels" It's a shame the can goes right in the garbage as soon as it's empty, really, who keeps them or analysis them..... Does anyone even pay any attention of the graphic design of the can? I would assume they just like the...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario
Lol. I'm 100% pro-choice, but I'm not even come close to responded to a comment comparing 'pro-choice' to beer labels. The difference between a person telling another person what they can or can't do with their own body and a fucking beer label with a leggy woman on it is astronomical. And it's com...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario
It's really a non-issue. It's a sexy lady on a beer can. If that offends you, then I don't know how you watch, read, listen to, or look at anything without being offended. I'd just stay in doors. And maybe you do with the new LCBO online webstore. It's not a part of some major overlying issue of mi...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario
I've always wondered how many of the folks who are passionately committed to these sort of 'social justice campaigns' ever take a step back for a moment and look at their behaviour objectively. It's really not hard to discern the parallels between their own campaigns and those led by the sort of pe...
