Garrison Juicy DIPA- wow.......I don't think I've been lied to this badly by a beer before. Claimi g to be an east coast IPA, dank, tropical,Juicy and hazy. Absolutely not! Hazy.....damn it's pretty similar looking to an adjunct lager. Dank, nope. Tropical, ok yeah I taste a tiny bit of mango. Juicy...

Re: Collective Arts - Stranger Than Fiction Porter review
I found it ok but a bit boring myself. Too bad, because Collective Arts has some good beers. This beer could do with some more hops or a more complex yeast strain. I really liked it, but then Clifford Porter came along and now it's my go-to porter. At the time there were pretty much no regularly av...

Re: Von Bugle Brewing
All right, they’re making a Lager with European hops! This one is darker, and also won’t have any corn syrup or foam enhancers http://www.canadianbeernews.com/2018/04/05/steam-whistle-brewing-launching-von-bugle-brewing-spin-off-in-etobicoke/ My guess is it'll be something along the lines of a dunk...

Re: Dieu du Ciel! Péché Day 2018
I ended up making it to Godspeed mid-Saturday afternoon, had a great time. No lineup, it was busy but not overwhelming. Got to try all the varieties, including Godspeed's collab with Dieu du Ciel. Termopilas was probably my favourite. All in all a great event, really cool to have it in two locations...

Dieu du Ciel! Péché Day 2018
http://www.birreriavolo.com/news/pecheday2018 Taking place in two locations this year, Birreria Volo and Godspeed Brewery. Looks like quite the lineup, an exclusive Gospeed collaboration variant of Péché is a nice touch. I've never gone to a Péché Day before so I don't know what to expect, but I'm h...

Re: IPA's, go Ontario, go.
I really dig this beer, maybe not quite as good as #5, but for 2$ less it's better bang for buck imo. It actually reminds me a lot of Ransack, although a fair bit juicier with much more restrained bitterness....a lot of the same tropical flavours though. Will need to do a side by side. Definitely a...

Collective Arts Life In The Clouds IPA - a real winner. I'm enjoying the different artwork on each can of this brew. Re: What're you drinking right now?
I guess I'm the only person in the world who didn't like IPA No. 5. I found it to be too sweet with a muddled taste and aroma. Unpleasant mouthfeel, thick and cloying as it warmed. It certainly had a big hit of citra hops, but I found it to be a more is less kind of deal. Maybe this NE IPA thing is...

Re: LCBO Winter Release 2017
Strangely it's nowhere to be found on the LCBO's website, but I've found it in store. Picked up a bottle about a week ago, I believe at the Vic Park/Ellesmere location if memory serves me.Rocketsan22 wrote:What happened to Sam Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout?

Re: Buffalo NY - what to see and explore?
Perhaps not a destination, but found myself in Hamburg for work and stopped by Hamburg Brewing Company at the suggestion of a local. Beautiful space with a massive fireplace and distinct ski lodge-like atmosphere; I'm a sucker for any place with a big roaring fire. Beers were quite good, along with ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Barncat's Bastet- a sour/funky beauty. Lychee, citrus, green grape and pawpaw flavours dominate, sour and dry st the same time. Kind of a really good cider-like tartness to it. This was nice fresh but with 6ish?? Months of age on it she's really come into her own. Extremely quaffable with some big oa...

Re: Great Lakes
FWIW the cans I have are Dec 29 2017, and I think they're quite excellent. Still not at all what I remember Lake Effect being when it launched, but certainly an enjoyable IPA.

Re: Great Lakes
I'll have to check the dates I have at home, I really enjoyed this one. Quite hazy, definitely not clear and with a nice hit of citrusy and tropical hops- got a lot of mango in particular. That said, I find GLB constantly tinkers with their IPAs. I remember Lake Effect being more resinous and bitter...
