Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I recall seeing somewhere that the dates were followed now by a "1" or a "2" to indicate whether it was brewed in California (1) or Chicago (2). October 11, 2016 is 8.5 months away -- surely Lagunitas can't think that their IPA can have a shelf life of much longer than that...? :o

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
$12 isn't at all unreasonable for what it is and where it's from but acknowledging the price as potentially a reason it is still available in the bottle shop is fair game IMO (said as someone who frequents Bellwoods often). Not everyone has an unlimited beer budget, and this beer came out as holiday...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
The King-Spadina LCBO rang it in as 3x as well, but the cashiers all had notes stuck to the registers with the real one.
So strange, but it's the LCBO so...

Re: Canada post oddity
A bit of a weird one, i had a package that was supposed to be in Quebec last week. Its gone from the gta to Stony Creek to Montreal to Mississauga and is not in transit again. Should I be worried? This happened with a trade a friend sent to me a couple years ago. Shipped from Vancouver, made it to ...

Re: Ontario Announces First Winning Bidders for Sale of Beer in Grocery Stores
While it's unfortunate that the initial selection is identical to any decent LCBO in Anywhere, Ontario, it's encouraging that Loblaws has decided to devote 50% of its beer shelf space to craft brands, and I suspect the selection will improve over time. Seems like a good start IMO, especially for a ...

Re: Best Bottle Shops
Mmhmm, thanks for the luck. Doing well with that, actually! 8) Anyway, seems like 20 people seem to agree that brewery bottle shops are, indeed, bottle shops, including a brewer. You're the only one disagreeing with semantics and the Ontario use of a term that has a slightly different definition els...

those are not bottle shops. those are breweries. we do not have bottle shops in Ontario. We all know what the original poster meant, especially given that many breweries call their own shops "bottle shops" (see Bellwoods, Rainhard, Burdock in Toronto as examples). because they're c...

Re: Collingwood Fireside ESB
From Ontario Beer Network, November 25 http://www.momandhops.ca/12-packs-at-the-lcbo/ The Collingwood Brewery announced it would begin selling a 12-pack of its Fireside Extra Special Bitter in 473ml cans at the LCBO this week. “We are moving everything to 12-packs,” says Chris Freeman, Head Brewer ...

That makes sense.
610 College. http://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2015/11 ... ollege_st/
That would be the Ali Baba itself. Didn't realise that had closed.

Re: New BarVolo / House Ales location in Little Italy?
Can't quite picture the details of that block, but either the old Royal Crown Jewelry store at 606 College (which was recently up for sale), or the old Bertucci's at 630 College (which is a more appropriate size), perhaps? I was told (and could be wrong) but it's the place next to alibaba's Hmm, I ...

Re: Ontario Announces First Winning Bidders for Sale of Beer in Grocery Stores
I've actually got no real conception of what 10,000 square feet looks like in grocery store form. Does anyone have a better idea, using stores in the downtown Toronto area as comparables?

Re: Ontario Announces First Winning Bidders for Sale of Beer in Grocery Stores
I should open a 'grocery' store. Get a couple racks of non perishable foods. Set the prices unreasonably high so nobody buys them, and thus I don't have to worry about restocking them too often. Then start just selling beer... Wonder what the minimum standard to be considered a grocery store is? To...
