The Buffalo BrewFest, one of my beer highlights of last summer, is returning this year. It will be held on Saturday, September 1st (Labour Day weekend), from 1-5pm. Dunn Tire Park, Buffalo's outdoor baseball stadium and home to the minor-league Bisons, will host the festivities once again. Tickets a...

Yep, Smokeless Joe is in the process of contacting a number of U.S. microbreweries that conform to Ontario standards (i.e. alcohol labeling, etc.) to see if he can get in a shipment for the pub. Victory is on the list.

I agree with hop_head, definitely pick up one of Papazian's books to start. If you want to dive right in, go down to Brew-Your-Own at 168 McCaul downtown. They're probably the best beer homebrew shop in the city (at least what I've been to). They know their stuff and they are very friendly. They wil...

It's in Ottawa, from July 27th-29th.

However, it is being organized by the same group as the Toronto festival, so I wouldn't expect there will be anything drastically different (beer-wise). I could be wrong, though. One thing is for sure - definitely less crowds than TO.

Funny...It *was* live when I posted the message. Definitely does not look good for a 2001 Festibiere.

I'd go for sure, but I've heard there might not be one this year...

Sounds like a cool place. I've never been there, and it's moved to the top of the list for the next evening out.

Quick question: is it "pub-like", in other words, it is a nice place for drinks alone?

Has anyone tried Church Key Ale? It is the only product from a new brewery in Campbellford (Church Key Brewing), started by John Graham, who used to work at the Amsterdam in Toronto. Supposedly it is a cross between a cream ale and a stock ale. It is evidently coming to Toronto on draught this summe...

They have a website here. No sign of participating breweries yet.

I've heard from friends that went to Guelph U. that the fest wasn't that great either...
