Shrinkflation
I'm sure you've all seen where companies reduce the size of an item instead of increasing the price. I hate the practice. Anyway, saw a 'new' listing for Carlesberg in the LCBO which seemed strange. Sure enough, they are moving from a 500 mL can to a 473 mL can. $3.00 for the 500, $2.95 for the 473....

Re: Best Ontario pilsners
There was a discussion about this a few years ago. Best Pilsner at the lcbo? Lots of support for Urquell at that time too, and a lengthy post by groulxsome I thought King Pilsner had morphed into Thornbury Pickup Truck No. 26 Pilsner. Did a little searching, and both appear to be available on-line d...

Re: Kingston Brewing Company
I remember Dragon's Breath....but it was more like 30 years ago.MatttthewGeorge wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 4:57 pm I was there once about 12 years ago or so and had the Dragon's Breath Pale Ale. Tasted like a malt extract beer tbh.
Can't say I remember the beer much, but it's still one of my all-time favourite beer names.

Fine Balance
A colleague and beer buddy brought me 4 beers today that someone had gifted him. Two were from Fine Balance, which was a surprise since I do not recall ever hearing about them, and that doesn't happen often. I checked it out, and discovered they've been around since 2020 November. Good for them, tha...

I still use this too and find it very helpful, although the updates don't always seem as timely as they once were.shintriad wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 2:07 pm Just stopped by to plug LCBO Watch, still goin' strong: https://lcbo.watch/new-releases

Re: LCBO.com
Ah ok. That's no good! I didn't realize that (don't use the app). Same here, I don't use the app, only the website, and it's the "Check Availability in All Stores" that I love and use all the time. And it's why I don't like the Beer Store website because they don't have a feature like this.

Re: LCBO.com
LCBO app/website leaves much to be desired. This quote comes from a different thread. There is always the possibility glitches with the website. I find odd things now and again, like making a purchase of something that doesn't show inventory in the store I'm at, or perhaps doesn't show at all, but ...

Just came to take a quick look and noticed at the bottom it said 65 users were logged on.
Wow!
Wait. Only 4 were registered and 61 were guests. Wow!

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Nickel Brook has another voting contest. This one isn't about four 'mystery' beers, but about three proposed new labels for Naughty Neighbour.

I don't think this could have been done a few years ago. How have the rules changed....or did I just not know.

Re: Anchor Brewing Ceases Operations
Also that rebranding. Wow. Somehow I missed that, likely since we haven't had Anchor up here for years, but that really is awful. Their labels and overall branding were iconic, I really loathe modernist sleek branding that marketers seem to be obsessed with. I somehow missed it too. I agree with yo...

Not starting until August 2?? LOL. Wouldn't want to evaluate the initiative on the whole summer now, would we?
