Re: Wet Hopped Ales?

Great Lakes announced two . Ya, the Centennial has already come and gone unfortunately (post is from September 4). Looking forward to trying the Chinook, though. Speaking of Chinook, the Collective Arts WH is a nice delicate showcase of that hop, with subtle notes of melon fruit, earth, cut grass, ...

I just ordered my first delivery from them based on this info. The handful of tasty looking DIPAs also available made it that much easier to pull the trigger.

Re: Wet Hopped Ales?

The only one I've had so far this year is Great Lakes' Centennial Wet Hop Ale, which was brewery-only and has already sold out. It was pretty good, and an improvement over last year's WHA, though I was a bit disappointed that they made it a hazy/New England-style pale with low bitterness (for me, th...

Re: Spending/Drinking More or Less on Beer during Pandemic?

Drinking and spending quite a bit less, as I went three weeks without imbibing after the Civic holiday. Also taking a break from Untappd and Beer Advocate after catching up on backlogged reviews earlier this year. And I've been posting on here less often, too. There's only been a handful of beers th...

Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers, Imports & Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO

For whatever reason most of the wet hop ales I've tried locally just aren't very good. Muskoka Harvest Ale used to be my favourite, but the recipe has changed and it's nowhere near as good now. Curious which ones you've had luck with, since I've found they often taste like flatter, blander versions...

Re: Third Moon Brewing

They are excellent. Better than most, if not all, the other high end IPAs. I have ordered 3 times now. Easy pickup in Milton on a Saturday. Agreed. I recently tried their All Together IPA, Each Beast a God Coffee Stout, and Dust Made Flesh Double IPA and thought all three beers were fantastic. The ...

Re: Ontario will allow restaurants to sell takeout liquor, wine and beer

Had a good experience at one my fave haunts today, Betty's on King East. You can get draft beer (or margaritas) in a plastic container, or a mixed six-pack of local craft at a flat rate — although Bellwoods beers are individually priced. They'll throw in a Schneider's meatstick to fulfill that gove...

Re: Coronavirus

RE: Coronavirus, the LCBO, and supporting our local brewers. Since the COVID shutdown started, my beer shopping at traditional outlets has nosedived. I now rely almost exclusively on brewery retail stores and online delivery for craft beer. Granted, before COVID, I was already purchasing about 85-90...

Re: COVID19 affect on craft brewring industry

Belgian obviously knows what he meant better, but I didn't read it that way at all. I wouldn't call it dismissal, but rather Ontario's beer scene has become so good it's negated the need to drive down to the US to get excellent beer. Which if you think about it isn't preferable to getting great bee...
