Re: What HOMEBREW are you drinking right now?

Best Case (from Noble Grape) Belgian Farmhouse Saison extract kit. Approx. 6% alc./vol and 22 IBU's. This was my very first homemade brew and I really like it. I made it in my Fastferment. Nice fruity (peach, apricots, lemon) a bit of spice taste and just the right amount of carbonation. Even though...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

[PRICE INCREASE] Nickel Brook Old Kentucky Bastard (750 mL bottle) is now $16.50 (↑ ¢55) :( Whoa, it's as if Nickel Brook is charging a buck per each ABV percentage point. I really respect NB and this beer is quite powerful, but just nowhere near complex enough to be a good sipper at this price poi...

Re: LCBO Winter Craft Beer Release 2016

I wonder if Orval will not be coming with the death of Peter, owner of the what I think is a one man agency, that distributes it. I might be wrong on the latest business arrangement. Didn't know Peter expired. Damn, too soon. I met him briefly on three different occasions at his house while buying ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

How far apart is the Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad from Omnegang's Three Philosophers? It sounds like the same type of quad, with cherries added. Which is better. So far, I've had the three philosophers and I liked it quite a bit, but it didn't blow me away or anything.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

If a brewer can convince me they will make more money if I pay cash at the LCBO vs. pay AMEX at their bottleshop....I'll never complain about it again. I know AMEX is more (sometimes much more) expensive to merchants, but I really don't give a hoot. Many small guys Do accept it...so some brewery, p...

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

Man, that Achel Blond is drinking as good if not better than Chimay White. Boy, I'd love to have an Achel, Chimay, Westmalle side-by-side right now, this is one of my fav beer styles. They also now have Préaris Quadrocinno which is mighty delish if you have some Peche nostalgia. Once in a while, Wes...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Can anyone explain the hype to me about three philosophers? I mean, it's good, sure. It's not better than St Bernardus (which we have year round) or Rochefort 8 or 10. Just wondering. I liked it. I know they call it a quad but I would rate it in a separate category because of the kriek blend. They ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

So I just had Illuminari at a friend's social event. And to sum it up, this is the epitome of what Mill St has become. It's supposed to be some champagne/Frambozen/Belgian sort of thing, but, I don't know if it's the cane sugar, the raspberries, or what, but it's a thick, syrupy, sweet mess. I thin...

Craft Beer Advent Calendar now back in stock online. Extra cases from a private order, I think. and the price went down $1.20 from when I snagged one last week?? what brews does this pack contain? I think it's the ones listed on their website: Day 1: Birrificio del Doge APA Day 2: Camba Bavaria Bav...

All 4 are great and I haven't had the Classic for like, forever. The glass is top notch too. Thanks BO, for bringing in at least one giftpack with glass.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

For those (like me) who don't know the details of this, would you be able to provide a short "consignment vs private order 101"? There's a number of things, but, in a nutshell, the main difference is this: Private Order requires the agent to sell all the beer in advance, presenting the LC...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Wow, the LCBO has certainly managed to deflate enthusiasm about this new venture fast, by basically launching with just a handful of online exclusives and with anything worthwhile selling out quick. Looks like they didn't plan this out properly and hardly anyone talks about their online store after ...

Re: Random Discounts

In the last 6 months I'm seeing that the LCBO is now doing discounts on products. They seem to be random and from store to store they are the individual and I'm not sure how long they last. They do not show up on the website in any search. For example, secret LCBO store (I need to see if they have ...
