Re: 2022 Autumn Beer Release

I'm curious about that Allsops. I hadn't heard much about them, I'm sure many of you know more than I do, but I gather they're an old defunct British brand that's being reborn. They're claiming to try to stick as close as possible to the original recipes. I'm also interested in the Zeven Zonden and...

Re: 2022 Autumn Beer Release

Found cans of regular, peanut butter and Mexican chocolate yeti at a bottle shop (in Fergus) recently, so ‘regular’ is available in Ontario if you would like to seek it out. Where in Fergus? I’d imagine he’s taking about “The Outpost” Correct. And I lied, it wasn’t ‘regular’ yeti, it was ‘big yeti’...

Re: Chicago

Great posts in this thread Cass!

I’ll be in Chicago downtown late October. Any recommendations on hotels or areas to book for easy access to breweries/craft beer bars? Also going to the united centre, how is the craft beer scene around there?

Cheers!

Re: Vermont

Heading to Vermont for a few days in August, staying in Burlington at the Hotel Vermont. I’ve booked a visit to Hill Farmstead, and will also visit Alchemist, Prohibition Pig, Farmhouse and Zero Gravity. Based on the useful information in this thread I may try to get to a few of the others like Foa...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

It’s a very interesting ‘beer’. One where I couldn’t decide whether I loved or hated it from sip to sip.

Re: What to do with the Bar Towel Forums?

Still drop in here and there after 15 years. Thanks for keeping it up Cass. Another factor behind the reduced activity is likely that good beer is not as scarce as it used to be. The discussion of, and hunt for good beer (and communal grumbling about the LCBOs lack thereof) comprised a good bulk of ...

Re: What're you lightly drinking?

Had a few low-ABV brews... the Godspeed Draught-lager style "Baby Svetly" (1.5%) is pretty acceptable for a crushable quaff, and the Omnipollo KONX (0.3%) tastes almost like a good light sour pale but something in the taste goes very wrong, like it's spoiled or infected. I'm not expecting...
