"But we see oddities (to my mind) such as CAMRA protesting the closure of local breweries which are the result of a willing seller wanting to sell to a willing buyer! " Or others protesting a willing seller (Lakeport) to a willing buyer (Labatt). God forbid that should happen in Capitalis...

Not sure where to flag this...

There is a wee typo in the announcement - it's not March 21st!

Depending how far you are prepared to roam, McAulsan brewery is a good visit. Other that their stout, personally I'm not crazy for their beers, but the cheeses and other goodies they produce and sell at their brewery are worth the trip. Make sure you pick up some of their mustard. A good list with m...

If you can't make decent beer...

Interesting article below from Brandweek on A-B producing Ku. It's actually a pretty good beverage, but I haven't tried their version. Queens Quay had quite a bit last week, but the weekend could have run them out.

I wish Summerhill would restock more often. It's just easy enough for me to get to but annoying to make the trip when they are out. :x

I was caught in that mess yesterday. It began when I got to Kitchener, around noon. By the time I delivered my firkin of Corporal Punishment to The Castle (shameless plug!) it was near white-out conditions. When I finished my Toronto deliveries (around 3:30) I spent fantastic three and a half hours...

Maybe these flavoured liquors are gimmicks, but suggesting that spirits in general can't be enjoyed in moderation is just foolish. Have you never sat and sipped a fine single malt, or a good bourbon, or even a quality gin or vodka? Amazingly, a lot of them taste really good - and some of them even ...

It's so sad that the fine art and culture of Irish brewing has been so massively misrepresented by Guinness internationally. So much good beer, so little availability out here :(

I went out back and pissed in the snow - now that's engineering only a Coors drinker would appreciate. :P

hmmm... The economy of scale debate also touches the critical mass issue. Many on this forum lament the lack of good US west coast style pale ales. While there is no real excuse, we do have to admit our entire country's economy is about the size of California's. While I'm a big proponent of regional...

I have even found the Queens Quay outlet spotty in recent months. It's really annoying to go out of you're way for empty shelves or worse, spoiled product because it is improperly handled.

Very nice Greg. I like the write up on the Rhino. When I lived near there in the early 90's it was one of my favourites along with Squirrelly's down the road near Bathurst. Your comments on the service and food sadden me. I used to be amazed at how well we were taken care of at the Rhino while they ...

There's plenty of Corona and Canadian on the shelf at the LCBO near me. Nice and chilled too.
