Depending how far you are prepared to roam, McAulsan brewery is a good visit. Other that their stout, personally I'm not crazy for their beers, but the cheeses and other goodies they produce and sell at their brewery are worth the trip. Make sure you pick up some of their mustard. A good list with m...

Interesting article below from Brandweek on A-B producing Ku. It's actually a pretty good beverage, but I haven't tried their version. I was caught in that mess yesterday. It began when I got to Kitchener, around noon. By the time I delivered my firkin of Corporal Punishment to The Castle (shameless plug!) it was near white-out conditions. When I finished my Toronto deliveries (around 3:30) I spent fantastic three and a half hours...

Maybe these flavoured liquors are gimmicks, but suggesting that spirits in general can't be enjoyed in moderation is just foolish. Have you never sat and sipped a fine single malt, or a good bourbon, or even a quality gin or vodka? Amazingly, a lot of them taste really good - and some of them even ...

hmmm... The economy of scale debate also touches the critical mass issue. Many on this forum lament the lack of good US west coast style pale ales. While there is no real excuse, we do have to admit our entire country's economy is about the size of California's. While I'm a big proponent of regional...

Very nice Greg. I like the write up on the Rhino. When I lived near there in the early 90's it was one of my favourites along with Squirrelly's down the road near Bathurst. Your comments on the service and food sadden me. I used to be amazed at how well we were taken care of at the Rhino while they ...
