Duncan called the Tory proposal “boneheaded,” a description that PC finance critic Peter Shurman found amusing. “I take that as a compliment coming from the ‘bonehead-in-chief’ of the Liberal party, outgoing Finance Minister Dwight Duncan,” said Shurman I'm glad to see we are finally getting an int...

If you start a conversation with a macro drinker with, "Why are you drinking that rat ****?" the likely response is not going to be, "My good fellow, you couldn't possibly be more right! Please point me in the direction of a flavourful local beer!" One of the barriers to greater...

it puts me in mind of the old Hockley Gold. I liked that one (particularly at first, I think they may have dumbed it down at one point) I enjoyed a pint of Hockley Gold back around 1994/5 at a Toronto bar then a few years later had it again on draught a few miles from the brewery and thought, "...

Amsterdam's best beer destination In de Wildeman now has a website listing their beers. Here is the Dutch bottle list: http://www.indewildeman.nl/index.php?doc=bieren&cat=1 Current draught offerings on the right side: http://www.indewildeman.nl/index.php?lang=en Cafe Belgique is fine too but it'...

La Cervoise (Mons, Belgium)

La Cervoise is one of at least two beer specialty bars in the main square (Grand Place) of Mons, Belgium, not far from the French border. (The city was liberated mainly by Canadian soldiers during WW1 and there's a somewhat famous painting of some of those soldiers celebrating on Armistice Day in th...

It's definitely at the LCBO because I was shown a photo taken of a shelf at one store and the label on the bottle is legible enough. It was sitting beside other beers that had the usual price tag but under the Tempest there wasn't one and as I said before it is not listed at their website.

I'm told this is available in large bottles at a relatively close LCBO store yet it's not listed on their website. Anyone know the price?

The famous Kulminator pub in Antwerp had a selection of Unibroue beers when I was there in 2009. It's the only place in the three cities in Belgium I've spent time in where I've seen their beers. Beyond Belgium IIRC a beer specialty pub in Amsterdam, De Wildeman, has had Trois Pistoles on draught be...

I bought a couple of Headstrong Pale Ales this week as they are on a "clearance sale" throughout the LCBO for $1.85. This is the first time in a couple of years I've had this beer but I remember it quite well. Either they've radically changed it for the worse or I just got two off cans. Bo...

I can't believe I'm saying this but.... Isn't that really just more pumpkin beers than we need? I'd say that even one pumpkin beer is more than I need, but some folks like 'em... Same here. I enjoy 1 or 2 a year and that's it. A few months after Halloween 2010 I found a loose leftover bottle of St ...
