Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out
A couple years back, they kept the Highlander branding on their flagship beers, but changed the name of the brewery. https://ridgerockbrewco.ca/blogs/industry-craft-beer-news/highlander-brew-co-rebranding-as-south-river-brewing Seems like they left the old branding website and social media up too, b...

I mean, it's also pretty impressive to run a brewery at 80.
If you're wondering who this brewery is, they used to be known as Highlander.

It's a shame that this seems to be happening to a lot of my favourite places. Revel, Matron, Barncat all struggling is disheartening.

I bet people are drinking it, but not in quantities that merit space on variety store shelves.

Oh, they had the Greener Futures thing too, which was a membership subscription for some beer if I remember right.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/lethbridge-brewery-seeks-shareholders-1.7079261 A different approach from a brewery in Alberta. Didn't someone else try something like this a while back in Ontario? It sounds familiar, but I can't quite recall. Beaus did something similar. I recall it was to r...

Re: Alcohol regulation changes
I'd love to be able to import from out of Province breweries directly. Does anyone know what the rules are for that in other provinces? It feels like that's the sort of thing the powers that be would want everyone to allow or nobody.

I haven't had a Calabogie IPA in like 5 years, but I remember being very pleasantly surprised when I tried it way back when. I should search that one out again sometime.

Re: Greg Clow to close Canadian Beer News
Back in the day we were all the extreme beer chasers, always looking for the strange new things. As the industry progressed, the people who still post here have more or less become beer traditionalists. We're not the ones out there hankering for the latest trendy or experimental beer any more, we're...

Re: Collective Arts
GLB are truly unrivaled at their price point in Ontario. Canuck at 3.15 and their rotating IPAs at like 3.60 are like a buck cheaper than their competition. Pompous Ass is under 3 bucks! I will say though, Collective Lager has become a bit of a staple for me. It's consistent, well-priced and pretty ...

I tried to go, but my plans/place to crash fell through. Going to a Great Lakes Tap takeover in Guelph instead.
