now to see if we keep creemore and 50 on or make room for more styles - this is the fun part! Missed this in my first post All of these are good alternatives to Creemore: - Grand River Plowman's Ale - Sam Adams Boston Lager - Grand River Town Hall Lager - Barking Squirrel Lager - Grand River Galt K...

it was pretty meh. it wasn't terrible but most of the flavour was grainy pale malt. Definitely agree with you. It's always great to see a new release, but this one misses the mark. Here's my review on BA (C+/3.2): "473ml can from the LCBO. Brewed by Matt Brewing Company in Utica, New York for ...

They really splurged on the packaging for this one. Probably the most sophisticated label I've ever seen. In all seriousness, thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna give this one a taste tonight. I don't think it's Saranac Black & Tan under a different name, since that beer is a stout and ambe...

Seriously though - no one else started out drinking malt liqour? I didn't start drinking until I was 16 (Grade 10), and every weekend my buddies and I would ask my brother to grab us 40s of Old English or Colt 45. After a while he refused to buy them for us, since it was too suspicious - and embarr...

I can't wait to try the Pilsbock. We always complain that OCB's don't take enough chances or brew enough different styles, but the pilsner/bock hybrid is very unique in Ontario. I'm gonna be in Toronto on the 3rd so I might make the extra trip to Nobleton.

I didn't realize it was coming out, so I'm interested in trying it. I like most of their lineup. With that said, with the hotter months ahead, I really look for drinkability, coldability, and frostability. Unless my mouth tastes frozen and mountains turn blue, I'm not interested. LOL. Yeah, I think...

Muskoka Pilsner Light

Anyone tried this yet? I'm pretty excited about the Mixer 5 Pack, as it'll be perfect for a session or two. Their Hefe is excellent and the Cream Ale and Dark are good too. But the word "Light" always throws up red flags for me. I'm hoping it'll defy my low expectations. Thoughts?

Re: We've come a long way

Well Mike, I know you look forward to the new Ceeps releases just as much as I do, and it is hard to contain our excitement, but we must. To mark the bottle release of their newest offering, they're doing a Cream Ale Day 2010. It'll be similar to Dark Lord Day, but with a much larger crowd. I'm sle...

By the way, I completely agree with you. It never hurts to stop and appreciate what we have now, in the present, before looking toward the next big beer run, trade, seasonal release, etc.

You really have to enter Chaucer's with bated breath. You're right Len. The beer selection has drastically declined ever since Milos left, and these days I find that Chaucer's is very 'off and on.' Every other visit I really enjoy myself, but on several recent occasions I've been severely disappoin...

Re: Sociological Commentary on Leading VS Following

I'd laugh at it & let it bounce... You can also play it funny... Well you'll notice from my post that I did both of those things, but the humour fell on deaf ears due to everyone's ignorance of beer. I've had my wittier moments, to be sure. I remember drinking 60 Minute (kind of a staple of min...

Someone is in line buying Lakeport Pilsner. They get their beer and leave. The customer behind them approaches and feels the need to say: " Lakeport?!? How does anyone drink that shit, it's so disgusting. Oh man, some people...let me get a 2-4 of Laker? Thanks. " I encountered this type o...
