Managed to pick up the Burton, Sam Smith and Celtic releases today in Mississauga, but Westmalle was nowhere to be seen in the Oakville / Mississauga area. Sounds like its going fast when it does show up...similar to the DFH 60? Seems like if you blink these days the "hot" beers are gone. ...

Ahhh, nice one. I enjoy Affligem from tiem to time. The perks of working at the LCBO, ha ha. I don't recall ever getting such perks back when I did a "holidat" stint at the LCBo a few years back, but I wasn't at a "beer" friendly location. Hmm, I do admit it was a fun environment...

Ya, Westvleteren seems to be a good potential option.
I suppose I'm limited to trying a few there and brining a ew home, which is why I was wondering if anyone else noticed any hidden gems or hard to get favourties from the list.
Cheers!!!

Beer paradise and Belgian Cafe in Rio, Brazil

Hey Everyone, I won't be leaving for months, but I was curious to see if there were any great beer spots in Brazil. I found this place via ratebeer, and it looks simply astounding. There is a "Belgian Beer cafe" associated with it as well. The links and websites are in Portugese, but the f...

He he. Erdinger is my LEAST favourite wheat beer, german or otherwise, I've had it a handful of times and never really enjoyed it...but wheat beers are usually some of my faves.

I also concur that the last 4-5 topics are sketchy. :D

Beer Recipes

Ok ok, Recipes might not be the most manly of topics, but I'm sure we've all cooked with beer, right? Maybe a bottle of somethign you hated, maybe just some nice mussels to mimic what you had at your favourite bar? But....I am sure, between all us bar towelers we could create a beer cookbook, or at ...

Beer stops in Moncton or St John, New Brunswick?

Any quick stops that would be worthwhile out this way? I'll be camping in NB for a few days...would be happy to pick up some local brews somewhere if possible?? Or, I suppose just stop by for lunch if thats the best option. Any tips?? PS - the darn "search" function still doesn't work prop...

Been to HAL burger twice so far, as it is close to work. Nice spot. Overpriced a bit though. But if you're not feeling poor, and want a nice environment to enjoy a burger, its a spot to "try". Not a place for frequent visits....but nice nonetheless. I tried the Bayou burger last time I thi...

Not too far from work, I'm intrigued though...could be interesting. Yes, the area might not be conducive the the best "authentic" experience....but you never know!

Cool stuff. Our company does work in Greenland....ha ha. Two beers actually they say a "pale ale" and a "brown ale" on the website. The first-ever Inuit brewery though??? Cmon.........I'm sure that can be challenged by some cool northern Canadian Inuit?? Hello? Anyone from Nunavut?

I'm still dissapointed after looking at the Sleeman list for the TFOB that only Blanche de Chambly is going to made it here this year, along with a whack of the Sleeman lines. Come on....only one Unibroue beer???

At least add Maudite (or Trois Pistoles which I've never had on tap yet)

Out of curiosity (and lack of anything else new and interesting on the beer front at the LCBO I visited), I grabbed two of these. I found them passable and drinkable. I'm no expect on the Vienna style at all. But a generic opinion on the beer is that its better than most beers I've had and if you do...

That would have been smart, some Great Divide glassware. Oh well! The one 'rule' I do have though is that I don't buy / get any glasses for beers I haven't had, it's just not the same. Even if it is a mediocre Quilmes from Argentina, whenever I bring out that glass it is at least attached to some go...
