Escarpment Labs Tap Takeover at Royal City

Post by Craig »

Hi there! We've been hard at work testing wild Ontario yeasts in beer fermentation as part of our collaborative Gryphon's LAAIR project with Dr. George van der Merwe at the University of Guelph. As a result, we've built a bit of a stockpile of kegs over at our project partner brewery, Royal City Brewing. We have planned a tap takeover this Sunday, April 24th during RCB's open hours (noon-5pm).

We invite you to come out and sample our experiments. Hopefully you will agree that this is one of the better ways to experience science! Included in the rotating taplist will be beers made with yeasts we isolated from strawberries and crabapples, as well as a yeast donated by a local homebrewer. We will also be tapping 4 beers primary fermented with different Brettanomyces strains, so that you can taste the wide range of flavours this intrepid yeast can produce.

Tasters $1 each, half pints $3 each.

Taplist to come.

We hope to see you there!
Sounds like a fun event! Good way to try some different beers.
