Hopfenstark Bottles

Post by Jon Walker »

Anyone know for sure which stores in the Montreal area carry Hopfenstark in bottles? Le Gobelet didn't when I was recently there, I'm hoping somewhere downtown does. My sister is visiting this Christmas and I'm hoping she can get some to bring with her.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

Hey Jon.
None of them carries it ``for sure.'' They were damned near impossible to find the last time I was there; even at Metro Joanette (which is actually in Verdun, anyway). I did find some of their Baltic Porter in a street which is basically one long strip mall. I'll try to figure out where the hell that street was, and pm you.
cheers,

Best bet is likely to post this on RB in the Eastern Canada forum and hope one of the Montreal guys can chime in.

Ummm...I appreciate the suggestion but my sister lives in Montreal. She loves me but probably not enough to drive three hours out of her way to buy me beer. Or were you asking where Hopfenstark is available in Gatineau? I'm confused.

I've got an e-mail out to Hopfenstark. Hopefully they will custom order some stuff into a given store and I can get her to pick it up.

Indeed they do. But I'd like to buy some by the case at retail prices hence the thread.

I believe Le Grand Duc (about 15min. from Montreal) has some.
Here's their website: http://www.legrandduc.com/

Thanks for that tip. Sadly Longeuil is a 45 minute drive from my sister in good traffic on the eastern side of the St.Lawrence. Still ideally looking for something on the island preferrably downtown or west.
