haha, i'd say the first half of that statement doesn't match the last. they aren't like standard lagers and are even more fragile. IBU has nothing to do with hop flavour+aroma...Cale wrote:NAC on Facebook: "Imperial IPA's aren't like standard lagers folks. We have a nice long shelf life on our IPA. 98 IBU's will keep it nice and tasty!"

Can you spell 'irony'?TheBeeraholic wrote:Or maybe they're just that retarted.Stroonze wrote:Hes also referencing a different green flash brew as its the west coast that is here not their impeial ipa.
But it's true, without an IPA we don't really like all that much getting here in damaged condition & the whole LCBO drama, not much for towelheads to chatter on about.

Re-tar-ded, there we go. If we can get RR in two weeks time there shouldn't be a reason why it takes another nine weeks to get something from California where we import large quantities of wine. Even with having to cross the border that should not account for nine extra weeks. I believe that was debated in another thread though. Regardless I'll be giving this a go and hoping for a fresher batch in near future.Belgian wrote:Can you spell 'irony'?TheBeeraholic wrote:Or maybe they're just that retarted.Stroonze wrote:Hes also referencing a different green flash brew as its the west coast that is here not their impeial ipa.

Spadinatown LCBO has it, I passed. I will definitely re-try it fresh if the LCBO allows.clockwerk wrote:Its a good IPA, but not worth the ($12.75) in its current condition. I have to assume it was pretty spectacular when it was fresh, but it seems much of the hop flavour is gone. Drink Red Racer instead.

Underwhelming product, and I doubt tired stock will change my mind so I can't care enough to waste my money trying to appease the moronic monolith.dale cannon wrote:Unfortunately, thismay not be compatible with thisBelgian wrote:Spadinatown LCBO has it, I passed.Belgian wrote:I will definitely re-try it fresh if the LCBO allows.

Wasn't suggesting you or anyone else should. Aficionados aren't going to buy a substandard product, and first timers won't repeat buy if the quality is low. Releasing this may have put future commercial success here in jeopardy, or at least behind the 8 ball. And maybe the LC doesn't order it again.Belgian wrote:Underwhelming product, and I doubt tired stock will change my mind so I can't care enough to waste my money trying to appease the moronic monolith.dale cannon wrote:Unfortunately, thismay not be compatible with thisBelgian wrote:Spadinatown LCBO has it, I passed.Belgian wrote:I will definitely re-try it fresh if the LCBO allows.
I virtually never drain pour. Last night I opened my first bottle of this and made it 1/3 of the way through then down the drain she went. It wasn't just a little off, or justed muted flavour and aroma...it was actually awful.
I took a chance because I had some GF hop head red just a couple weeks ago in NY that was bottled early may and it had plenty of hop aroma and flavour. Very enjoyable it was.
Yes I think this could screw Green Flash before they even had a chance. Who would buy this for 12.75 and ever trust the brand again? No wonder brewers stay the hell out of Ontario, or at least test the waters very carefully in advance (lab checks & approvals.)virtually never drain pour. Ha I like 'age inappropriately', it's a hilarious euphemism for 'death.'It's so common, so unfortunate West Coast was handled so flippantly. And that it will likely (continue to) sit on warm shelves, age inappropriately.

I purchased last night despite the warnings - I really wanted to support NAC having the balls to bring it to Ontario - but as stated by everyone already the beer is a total mess. Full of particulate and close to zero hop flavour or aroma.
Funny as I have some Runiation that I purchased in August/bottled in May and was sitting on a warm shelf in upstate New York that while clearly not "fresh" still expodes with hop flavour and aroma. Really makes me wonder what happened to the Green Flash.
Just disapointing all around. Amazing beer brought in only to see it langush in red tape causing it to become less than a shell of its former self.
