I fell in love with fruit beer last summer and managed to enjoy their flavours through to the middle of spring this year, but it seems that the LCBO outlets I used to frequent (Union Station, Danforth/Broadview, Spadina, Dundas/Yonge) is no longer carrying them.

Every time I ask about the products, I'm told that they're out of stock and I should try again in X number of days, but I never seem to succeed.

Is it a possibility that the LCBO has delisted these products, even though their demand was quite high? If so, could someone please reccomend a consignment merchant who would be able to get me a case or three of my fizz?

eller, last Monday saw the launch of the LCBO's summer beer promotion but Fruit Beers have suffered because last year's Fruit Beer promotion wasn't a huge hit (too many Fruit Beers released all at once if you ask me). This release includes our Mort Subite Framboise (CSPC 602888) and Mort Subite Gueuze (CSPC 601773)both of which should be available at the Spadina store since is one of the participating stores (Union Station and Danforth are not) or you can call the LCBO Infoline at 416-365-5900 and speak to an information officer who can track down which stores have inventory of the above CSPC numbers. You can also probably still find some Mort Subite Kriek (331569) and Mort Subite Cassis (331587) out there as well. Although we carry a lot of Consignment beers, no one is carrying any fruit beers in Consignment.

I just got back from the Yonge & Dundas store carrying in my hot little hands the first bottles out of the Mort Subite Gueuze and Framboise boxes.

They also have about a dozen of the Floris Ninkeberry.

Just a heads up to everyone regarding the Mort Subite products, only one week into the promo and sales are going at such a rapid clip that we expect Toronto area stores to start running out of stock wihtin the next week or so. FYI, we ourselves purchased about 25% of the entire order of Mort Subite for our customers and for use at the Ottawa Beer Fest so if want to put up your summer supply of Framboise and Gueuze, I suggest you get out there quickly. The same is true for Brussels White ($1.75 this year!!!!) as we tried to order some stock today and were told the warehouse is already out of stock.

eller, it is not a matter of "finding a consignment merchant", a beer (product, brand) is always exclusive to an "agent" in ontario ... peter ... myself, etc. whether we elect or are able to offer it and have it brought in by the LCBO for their shelves or whether we bring it in (with the LCBO's aid) through consignment ... is another story.

we use the consignment program - not all agents are part of the lcbo's consignment program - to bring in beers that for whatever reason we cannot persuade the LCBO to buy for their shelves or beers that just wouldn't be suited for the LCBO's shelves, small production, too unusual, etc.

having said that ... we actually have a shipment of the huyghe floris beers on the way. i am glad you are a fan - i, personally, love "fruit beers" - so i will be sure to notify you and the whole world ... well ... ontario ... when they come in.

cheers, paul
