Yeah I have no interest in paying fifteen bucks or over for a bottle of beer. Would rather buy a bottle of wine.

To each theys own. Wine can have an amazing quality-price ratio; affordable Bordeaux is a great example.

However the quality range for beer often competes with or exceeds wines of comparable price. I'm still amazed how great the Cascade release was. Maybe I'm wrong and those are just as inexpensively 'mass-produced' as many wines in the $22-28 range? Yet with all that fiddly custom barreling and re-blending I doubt Cascade sours are all straightforward, low-cost beers to make.

We have some decent choice here now, and I will generally try at least one of anything to support initiatives.

Since Founders is being mentioned...anyone know if PC Pils will be back this summer? It just says product discontinued at the website. When it came along near the end of last summer, maybe early September, it became my only regular pilsner until the local LCBO ran out around November.

Oh it's worth every cent.

If it were in 3 x 250 ml bottles would each be worth $6-7, definitely. The aromas and the substantial body of this beer make it worthwhile the second the cork comes out. It's not far short of Alesmith territory, and I know it's only #17 or Ratebeer's global Style ranking.

I would prefer to pay $19.50 for 3 250 ml bottles than a single 750ml
I know some beers can be re-sealed and consumed over a couple of days. Problem is, I have yet to find one that tastes as good a day or 2 after opening. With smaller bottles I can consume one and save the others for another day and, within a reasonable period of time (hoppy beers excepted), will taste as good as the first one opened.

given what's happened to me with 600-750ml bottles in the past, I won't buy any more unless the price is such that if I have to dump 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottle I won't feel ripped off.

Having said all that, I've come to realize that for the majority of beer drinkers: the larger the container, the better ... regardless of ABV

I've always found it best to drink soon after purchase. Founders typically releases stuff right at it's peak - if it's a beer that would benefit from aging, they've already aged it before releasing it.

I don't think long cellar stints are recommended for CBS (or KBS for that matter). For example, the best before date on the KBS that was on shelves here in Ontario earlier this year is Feb 2019. To me, that is an indication that Founders does not believe it to be a strong cellar candidate.

Your bottles will likely drink fine into the near-ish future, but they aren't getting any better. Coffee flavour in particular is prone to fading.
