Burdock Double Ducks-absolutely excellent. Great balance and body.
Signal-FireWire, it tastes like soap and nothing else to me, maybe a touch of bitterness. I remember having this beer years ago when the brewery was originally around and it was quite decent. This is not. To be fair though it’s right after the excellent Burdock beer, so maybe a second chance is needed but it’s honestly going to be tough to get through this can.

Over the last few weeks, working my way through a haul from Kansas City:

KC Bier Pils
Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
Shiner Oktoberfest - Marzen-Style Beer
Boulevard Dank 7 - Belgian-Style IPA
Komes Russian Imperial Stout
Boulevard Salute The Monarchs - Belgian-Style Tripel
2024 Boulevard Proper Pour - Cabernet Cask
Perennial Vacation Dad - Hoppy Blonde Ale
2023 Surly Darkness Imperial Stout
Boulevard Single Wide IPA
2024 Founders Ultimate Oktoberfest
Boulevard Dark Truth Imperial Stout

Highlights were the 2023 Darkness, Salute The Monarchs, Proper Pour, and Shiner Oktoberfest (surprisingly)

The delightful GLB delivery driver brought me some 2024 Lake Effect yesterday. It's in good form this year. :P

Enjoying one of these as well right now. The current one for me is orange and grapefruit, a good chunk pine and a bit of herbal notes, that I recall back in the 650ml bottle days representing as dill. A bit of honey & cracker sweetness and a nice bitterness.
I feel like some of the years back when it came in the 650ml bottles it was a little better than now, but I don't know how much of that is just nostalgia goggles. In either case agreed that it's it's in really good form this year. Not a lot of great westy leaning IPAs around these days, I'm thinking of ordering more myself.

I enjoyed a year-old St Bernardus Christmas Ale over the weekend to kick off the season. I think I will pick up one or two more while they're still at the LCBO!

In that vein I had a year old Gouden Carolus Christmas while decorating the tree, another seasonal favourite of mine. Not sure if it's officially back this season though, availability seems limited which suggests it's dwindling stock from last year.

Not a whole lot of Christmas ales available this year it looks like, so I guess I'll also be stocking up on St. Bernardus.
