New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Karmageddon in the LCBO for 4 bucks a can is an impossible value to beat. Packaged Jan 23.
This makes me wish Sierra Nevada was still at the LCBO. Maybe Torpedo will be available one day.
You got that right. I usually don't stress about beers coming and going but that's one I will miss. I'll probably buy the mix packs when I'm driving through Buffalo in the future now.
This is kind of the opposite of a new arrival, but I contacted the agent that deals with Boon and they said the LCBO rejected their order(?) for a summer shipment.
I'm not sure the mechanics behind this, but they sold really well, certainly faster than similar stuff.

Well, this Boon lover is tremendously disappointed. Were they given a reason for the rejection?anthony9 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 10:58 am This is kind of the opposite of a new arrival, but I contacted the agent that deals with Boon and they said the LCBO rejected their order(?) for a summer shipment.

Like you, I thought it sold very well.
I didn't get more information beyond the LCBO rejected their request to sell the non-oude kriek that was available recently.Andicus wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:10 amWell, this Boon lover is tremendously disappointed. With the prices of some of the local sours and IPAs at the higher end micros, Boon's normal stuff is pretty price competitive. My own biases, but I'd buy cases of their standard oude geuze.

Another fresh(ish) batch of Orval has hit the shelves, bottled Feb 19 of this year. Looks like my wish has come true as this is nearly 5 years of consistent shipments since it came back in early 2020.

This has to be the best beer value at the LCBO. 473ml of 8.2% Baltic Porter for $3.05

I just bought one last weekend. I hadn't noticed the price. You're right. That's a good deal.GtownRandy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 1:29 pm This has to be the best beer value at the LCBO. 473ml of 8.2% Baltic Porter for $3.05

I finally tried this. It's a nice beeeg beer, but for my taste a bit too sweet. Still, seems very well crafted. Especially for the price.
It might sounds dismissive, but I could see myself cooking with this. So many dishes where this would be a great contribution.

Brands are for cattle.
Fans are cash cows.
The herd will consume until consumed.

Price is especially impressive when you consider their Oatmeal Stout is $3.20, which is a great deal in its own right.

Exactly my thoughts. At that price point I wished I liked it more, but I can't see myself buying it again this year.
I used to sell beer. Now I don't.
Nice to have this back... I think it's been several years since we've seen it.

I don't follow the Belgium beers too closely, but $12.95 for a 750 mL bottle strikes me as being quite a deal.walz22 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 8:32 pm Nice to have this back... I think it's been several years since we've seen it.
