Article in the Toronto Star website re: a ferry service. Sounds like a doomed project but might prove interesting beer-wise. Bike over on the ferry for a brewpub afternoon perhaps?

I believe they've also built the dock in Rochester. I hope it goes ahead. Rochester really is a nice city. There's much more there than just Beers of the World.

I think this is cool. One think I think the Star article doesn't mention is that this might actually encourage tourism between Rochester & Toronto. My parents often go to Rochester and they have always liked the city.

It does seem to be a bigger issue in Rochester - check this out:

Well, it looks like this ferry service is officially a go:

If they remain on schedule, I guess we'll be able to take it over to the Rochester Beer Festival next year.

It's funny, I read the article, and I was thinking the exact same thing, "Hey, I know there are some good brewpubs & beer in Rochester, Maybe we can organize a trip on Bartowel", and here we go!

Apparently it doesn't opened until the spring, but let's definately keep an eye on it, I think it would be a blast to put a trip together to head over there, perhaps arrange tours/lunch/dinner w/ breweries, pubs, etc, would be a ton of fun!

Looks like a cool idea, but it doesn't seem all that affordable. Unless you're going alone

The Toronto end of the ferry service has been in the news quite a bit lately. The U.S. side is evidently ready, but construction is in its infancy on our side. It sounds like the Toronto Port Authority has goofed big time, and David Miller is making some hay with it, given that he has another fight going with them over the proposed link to the Toronto Island Airport.

I’ve read that the Rochester investors are sweating this one out.

Near the end of July or early August. Nice little festival. Worth the trip.
