Taps Rauchbier

Post by pootz »

Just finished some Growlers of Taps revolving offerings and as a fan of Bamberg smoked marzen, I have to admit this less intense version of the style is a pleasant surprise to find at a brew pub.

If you ever sampled Schlenkerla Marzen, and use it as a regular match with rich food or extremely flavorful cheese, you will like this Taps version...its less intense with the overpowering birchwood smoke house tastes and brings the amber Munich malts and noble hopping forward...the flavour would indicate they used authentic Bamberg smoked malt but at an intensity level anyone can enjoy....you can throw a few of these back without getting a smoked-out palate yet it is still a great match for spicey meats.

Good beer from a great little brew pub in evolution.

BTW The Taps Dunkel and Rye beer are very drinkable and tasty as well.
Aventinus rules!
