Chancey Smith's changing name to GAMBRINUS Bistro & Cafe

Post by Milos »

We are in the process of changing our name to reflect changes that took effect over past two years.
Gambrinus as patron saint of brewers seems to fit where our hearts and intentions are.
Interior and menu changes in progress are to express change in concept and a mission statement.
We want to support Ontario beer, local business and art community. With exception of bar area the entire place is being converted into a showcase of local art.

Stay tuned for more exciting news!!!
:P
So many beers and so little time!!

I actually like this new name very much.

Good luck & see the London crew whenever the heck I make it down there (I think for sure in a month or two.)

Thanks for posting this Milos.

It is probably safe to say that most London regulars have probably known about this for some time, and have done a good job at keeping it hush hush. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can safely say that Gambrinus will be of of THE top beer destinations, not only in Ontario, but the entire country.

Milos, Adil, Dudley,Bidan, Farmlosh, Jess, Danielle, ..............please keep up the great work you do every day to make this an amazing place to drink beer!
If you`re reading this, there`s a 15% chance you`ve got a significant drinking problem. Get it fixed, get recovered!

Gambrinus eh? Where'd that idea come from Milos?

Sounds like things are improving in a large way. I hope it brings more thirsty sons and daughters of Gambrinus through the doors. 8)

One thought - Feed our Women! I can eat anything but some of my friends and family have developed egg/gluten intolerences. If you had some alternate items on the menu it would mean I could come more often and drink more beer. Of course, that would mean you'd run out of your hophead tap selections a lot quicker. The current menu has little egg-free food...but to reiterate - THIS DOES NOT AFFECT MY DECISION TO COME TO YOUR BAR - I'm just looking for ways to come more often with a wider circle of friends!
Cheers, and thank you Milos for what you have brought to London!

Congratulations Milos on this new phase in your righteous craft beer crusade. I am encouraged to learn that Gambrinus will not only be offering fresh cask ale, but will also be doing occasional tastings with their recently acquired Randall The Enamel Animal. :o

Plus Samuel Adams Utopias and a massive Mikkeller bottle order are on the way, Taps Chuck Norris IPA is on deck, and Beau's All Natural Brewing is coming down for a meet & greet in March (tentative date I'm assuming).

With all of this lined up for the bar's official re-launch (and shortly thereafter), I think Gambrinus has a very bright future ahead of it!

I was never one for changing names (yeah right) but I like the beer lineup and direction of Gambrinus. I believe their hard work has earned them the respect they deserve. Good luck guys! I look forward to many many pints together.

P.c.
