Well, notwithstanding my explanation - that served only to allay specific concerns over some "cloudiness" or
"flakes floating" - yes there certainly is a problem with storage and handling at many LCBO stores which we are, indeed, aware of. TO give them the benefit of the doubt they (the LCBO at large) simply aren't - understandably - really set up to handle a lot of small batch, unpasteurized, etc. products so ... the problems pretty much centre themselves around these more delicate products.
We have, in fact, had products that simply weren't even purchased to begin with - i.e. submitted but not accepted - due to handling potential concerns.
Fortunately someone like Creemore (after all they're "just up the street") is close enough and well on top of things to make sure their stock is all right all the time -- something I am sure must have been part of some big discussion at the outset.
I still hope you will continue to enjoy a moderately chilled XO from time to time ... in a snifter glass.
Cheers, Paul

Yesterday I tried mu first bottle of XO and I found it to be very nice. You can certainly taste the cognac and I think it's quite a nice twist to a good beer.

The LCBO at Atrium on Bay has most of the Winter Warmers release on the shelf, as well as several of the beer gift packs.

Talked to the distributor at the Ottawa Wine and Food show in early november...they have missed the deadline to have their product released for this winter promotion, but we should see it next year though.

I was at the Davisville location today and, mixed in amongst the holiday gift selections, was Amsterdam Avalanche in 650ml and Amsterdam Framboise in "special" 650ml bottles.

I second SirIsm: although not part of the official winter release, I have seen Amsterdam Framboise in an attractive 750mL swing-top stoneware bottle for $9.95 at the St Lawrence Market LCBO.
