Still one of my favourite straight up porters.

94% on Beeradvocate and 3.9/5 on untappd.

A fair price for a pretty good beer.

Not sure how much they've improved, but there were workplace issues at the company that led to boycotts. I heard Sapporo Breweries wanted to clean things up, though I don't have anything concrete.

Not seeing this on the LCBO website but an interesting Saison available now for $7.05 for a corked 375 ml bottle. Collaboration between Blaugies and Hill Farmstead. Haven't tried it yet but looks promising. https://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/Beer/B ... rID=201329

I found this at the LCBO next to St. Lawrence market in Toronto.

I believe they fired someone and then settled the lawsuit out of court. I don't think we'll ever really know exactly what went on there and who is truly to blame.

They carried this a couple years back, it’s really quite nice.

I'll second that. Lots of hop flavour and aroma. I think they dry hop it.

Horizon Beers is in charge of that. On their website it still says coming soon, so maybe Jart-elle is also available for those that look.

Added: The prices I quoted seem to be higher than what the LCBO will sell by about 10%. Jart-elle may be closer to ten dollars.

I feel like Vernontoise was available last year. I think I have a bottle kicking around somewhere from that.

The Guinness Extra Stout appearance is notable, especially with the Labatt version still available, afaik. Will be interesting to A/B. Meanwhile, we need Guinness FES and the West Indies Porter, these show more the true Guinness palate. Or the strong European version. I mention some in a post recently. Attached is West Indies and it is very good, rich and full yet still Guinness.

Once again apologies for sideways images, can't seem to fix it permanently from here.

Stone returns!

And Destihl comes to Ontario! Would not have guessed that.

Those are great to see Cass. It really underlines how little quality US craft beer the LCBO imports up here. I will definitely get some of both of those. 🍺

It looks like Destihl are grateful dead fans based on their beer names!

Nice to see Stone back, I hope it means Arrogant Bastard might return as well. We've already got a million hazies up here, but not much in the way of American Strong Ales.

I gave the Ireland brewed one a try and in all honesty it's not much different than the Labatt brewed version, for better or worse. Good from a quality control standpoint, but further cements my desire to get the proper Export stout here; I've always found the Extra to be a bit lacking.
