To his credit he's got a lot of breweries participating this year and releasing tripels specfically for the occasion. It's probably easiest just to link the website, he's got a pretty exhaustive list of breweries participating and who have tripels in their lineup: https://www.tripelday.com/beer-releases

Looks like the style is finally getting its due.
Wow! That's quite a long list of breweries who have made tripels with most saying they are currently available.

So I managed to grab the 4-pack that includes tripels from Shacklands, Folly, Brock and Meuse. So far I've tried Shacklands and it's a solid 4/5 from me. Nice phenols, fruitiness, dry; strong but well balanced. I found the malt veered into a caramel/toasty territory, it seemed quite dark, almost dubbel-like in that regard. Otherwise a fine beer.

I'll update this space with my thoughts as I try more of these tripels.

Brock seems a bit out of place here to me.

It's the second one I've tried and out of place is right, it was, uh, not good. It was astringent on the finish and rough around the edges; unpleasantly boozy finish, flavours not well integrated. I have much higher hopes for Meuse, they do Belgian styles well. Folly I'm not sure what to expect as I've only had 1 beer from them before.

Okay, nothing special...as expected.

Here's another interesting one I found that's tasty but far from traditional: https://untappd.com/b/merit-brewing-by-and-by/2942856

Oh yea, I had that Merit one back in 2020. I thought it was quite nice, flavours worked well together. I recall wishing at the time that we had more straight up tripels available locally, seems we've finally got there.

On that note I've since had the Folly Three Kings. It was quite nice, maybe a 3.75/5 with regards to the style but that's a high bar. Definitely on the simpler side, but very well balanced. Honey sweetness up front that dries towards the finish, notes of spice and pear. Recommended overall.
