Not to shit on the rest of the province, as there are some amazing beers from other breweries out there that I'd drink any minute of any day of any week. Toronto and Hamilton just rule the list.
Yes I agree Toronto breweries by volume rule the list, Hamilton, not so much.
Interesting coincidence that the above was posted today, because I noticed on Canadian Beer News that another brewery is opening in Cambridge (https://www.canadianbeernews.com/2019/0 ... e-ontario/), and thought it's becoming quite the brewing town.
I took a look at the list that is on Ontario Beverage Network. It should have been fairly accurate as of 6 months ago. Here are the top seven cities by number of breweries (I added one to Cambridge).
Toronto 45
Ottawa 22
London 9
Cambridge 7
Windsor 7
Hamilton 6
Kitchener 6
Depends on how you look at waterloo region, butmost people lump Kitchener and waterloo into the same city. I know I do, i don't even really know where the borders are and I live here.
If so, then you've got:
Abe erb
Abe erb tannery
innocente
Brick
Short Finger
TWB
Counterpoint
Descendants
Red Circle
Arguably if you add the townships around the region you can add Block Three, and Bitte Schon, with Red Circles sister location in the works. Throw in Cambridge's several breweries and it makes this region fairly dense for it's population.
Can't believe someone would post that Hamilton, with 6 breweries, is better than Ottawa, with 22 breweries. Even with Collective Arts in Hamilton, Ottawa still has fantastic breweries like Dominion City, Small Pony, Tooth & Nail and Stray Dog.
