Interesting discussion in the UK over beer serving sizes.

I personally don't have a strong attachment to 568 mL serving sizes, but I do believe in standardization. This should be called a pint and nothing else. I would actually prefer half of that if it is half the price.

This is the way I feel about just about every food dish served at restaurants.

I'm not tied to 568ml, not like that's really around in Toronto much anymore. I just want bars and breweries to clearly say how much the quantity is, and serve that.

Agreed on both points.

Standardize so people can be better informed when comparing prices, or even deciding if they have had enough.

Restaurant food portions are comically stupid. Have you ever seen anybody eat the pound or more fries as a side to other things as one usually gets served? Even if people are sharing plenty go back and into the compost. Just stop it already. I actually find reasonable portion sizes more appetizing. I can dig in and enjoy the food as opposed to feeling like it's doggy's meal time.

I do get why establishments might not want to break down beer servings to smaller sizes. After all they have to manage and clean more glasses and there's more trips for servers. That's why generally a 1/2 pint does not cost the same as 1/2 a pint. Less efficient.
