Which session?
Friday night. I prefer that one so I'm not wasted during a day session and can enjoy a full day of exploring on Saturday.
I'm going for the first time this year - very excited. I'll be at the Saturday session, but in Chicago from Wednesday. Maybe a BT meetup!?!

I just got back from Nashville, granted it was for work, but I could see that route being interesting- specifically with a stop in Cincinnati. A friend of mine was there earlier this year and the German brewing history looked fascinating, specifically the beer caves. The Over-the-Rhine neighbourhood is one of the prettier ones in that region in general.
As far as Nashville goes, it's not really my thing but there's no denying the strip is something to experience. There's a good beer scene there too- craft available essentially everywhere. Monday Night Preservation was a highlight, located in an old meatpacking factory; great beers and cool location. Bearded Iris and Southern Grist were other highlights for beers tried, however I didn't make it to the actual breweries.
Personally, I'd still like to do a trip through Vermont one day- I agree there's so much locally nowadays that a US beer trip doesn't have quite the same allure, but Vermont is gorgeous and home to some iconic breweries. I'd definitely loop through Maine and Quebec City for that journey.

Great suggestions here! I put together a few hypothetical road trip (from Toronto) itineraries in mid-March 2020 which never came to fruition, for obvious reasons. This list might already be obsolete, but here it is:
With a border crossing:
Rochester, NY:
- 3 hours from Toronto
- Brooklyn's Other Half has a brewery there
- Could visit nearby Suarez in Hudson or Mortalis in Avon, etc.
- Could do a day trip or stay in Cooperstown for Ommegang, or Beacon's Hudson Valley
Burlington, VT:
- 7 hours from Toronto
- Heard good things about Freak Folk
- Relatively nearby are Alchemist in Stowe, Lawson's in Waitsfield, many others
- Day trip/stay in Greensboro for Hill Farmstead
Further afield, there are things to be said for NYC, Connecticut, Richmond VA, and so on...
Without a border crossing:
Ottawa/Gatineau:
- 4.5 hours from Toronto
- Some options in the region include Bas-Canada in Gatineau, Stray Dog in Orleans, Wood Brothers in Glen Robertson, etc.
Montreal:
- 5.5 hours from Toronto
- Been meaning to try out Messorem. There's also Le Castor in Rigaud, Trois Mousquetaires in Brossard, or Dunham in...Dunham, among others.
