tsarina Katarina Update.
tsarina Katarina Update.
I have sampled the Tsarina Katarina Imperial Stout from the fermenter and these are my notes:
Colour: dark black
Aroma: liquorice, tar, dark malt
Flavour(s): slight liqorice notes, very vinous, hops present but not dominating, alcohol warming but well integrated for its age, finishes somewhat like a red wine.
Mouthfeel: very robust and full bodied.
I am VERY pleased with this one.
There are still several cases left for those wanting one. The price is $75.00 for a case of 24-341ml bottles. The order form can be filled out on our website: www.scotchirishbrewing.com

The Tsarina ( Mr. Hancock, she has been re-elevated to uppercase status) has been filtered and it is conditioning as we speak. It should be ready for bottling this coming week. I will keep you posted here on when the expected release date is and when the get together at Volo will happen.
I am excited by the up-coming release and I thank you all for your support. BTW.- there are still some cases left if there is anyone still interested.

The Tsarina was to be bottled last Thursday. I say was because as we began to bottle, and more importantly in this case, label the beer the labels kept curling away from the bottle. Apparently the grain on the paper is wrong and the labels need to be re-printed. Oh, and the neck tags...turns out they printed the wrong size ones and they don't fit the bottling machine!!!!!AAARGH!
The labels are being re-done asap, as well as the neck-tags that bear the vintage. For $75.00 bucks, it needs to be done right. I wanted this beer to be in your hot little hands by now, but it looks like it will be another 2 weeks. I am very, very sorry for the delay.
