Next time you travel to Asia.......
Last week I carefully packed my sole bottle of Quelque Chose in my suitcase to share with a friend in Taiwan. I live in Korea and I'd been saving this bottle for a special occassion after a fellow Bar Toweller brought it over from Canada a few months ago. I'd never tried it before, and I was sure that my friend would never have seen such a thing in Taiwan. We both enjoyed this unique brew, and I felt satisfied in having done my duty of spreading the good word of fine Canadian beer.
The next day we met a third friend and went to a nearby bistro for, you guessed it, a beer. Lo and behold, there on the shelf were 10 bottles of Quelque Chose! I was a bit miffed to find out I wasn't a "beer pioneer," but I solaced myself with a lambic while our third friend enjoyed a Unibroue for the first time. I was even happier when the owner told about about a sister store around the corner which carries about 160 varieties of beer. That's amazing in this corner of the world.
The moral of the story: A good beer is always right around the corner???
Here's hopin' to see more fine Canadian beer over here.
Cheers.
