Brick has announced that they are reviving the stubby bottle for Red Cap.
Contrary to what Brick says, Unibroue was the first Canadian brewery to revive the stubby, a couple of years ago with Bolduc. But that brand has never made it to Ontario (I much prefer what we have from them instead!)
Although this is obviously marketing-driven, it should be fun anyway. The new stubby Red Caps should be available very soon.

Heritage Brewing of Ottawa is also going to use stubbies when it begins bottling. Their two beers, Premium Lager and Traditional Dark should be on the LCBO shelves by late summer.

Brick Brewing had a couple of Red Cap stubbies set up at their booth at the Good Beer Festival in Hamilton. They also had a 12 pack box to show you what it would look like in the stores... looks pretty funny, but convenient to carry!
When asked, they weren't sure yet if the cap would be pry off or twist off.
I sampled their new Honey Red lager, and it tastes exactly like a cross between a red and a honey brown. Not bad but I prefer heavier ales myself.

I saw a young guy proudly carrying a case down Queen Street the other day. I asked him if they were the stubby bottles. He beamed a huge smile and said "Yeah!". I asked him what the beer was like (having never had it) and he replied, "I don't know. Who cares man, they're in stubbies!" While for most of us stubbies are pure nostalgia and an interesting marketing gimmick for the under 21 crowd it's a first time experience.
Everything old is new again. If they start to sell well any wagers how long it'll be before Blue or Canadian switch back?

If only brewers would spend more time, money and effort on what's in the package rather than the package itself the beer world would be a better place.
