The Bar Towel

We've got a bit of surprise for beer lovers in Ontario...the first shipment of Achel 8 made to Canada has arrived and will be distributed to a select group of licensees within a matter of days. I'll post a list as soon we make our deliveries.
For those of you who aren't aware, Achel is a centuries-old monastery which only started brewing beer in 1999 and only started bottling this one beer last year. Monks from Westmalle and Rochefort acted as consultants on this brewery project. Achel is an 8% alc./vol. ale in the Tripel style.

Thanks for the news Peter. I noticed this one on the menu at the Esplanade on the weekend. Will have to give it a try soon.

Lubiere, unfortunately, we only have 30 cases and they are all spoken for by bars in Toronto and Ottawa so we do not have any additional cases for sale but we will be brining in a second order which will arrive later this summer and we will certainly have stock available then and will keep you informed.
For the rest of you, we jumped the gun a bit and Achel is still hung up in the LCBO lab so we expect it to start appearing in various establishments next week.

Will it be available in Ottawa at the Arrow and Loon , or Pub Italia?

We don't deal with the Arrow and Loon but we expect to see the Achel at Pub Italia in a couple of weeks.

Finally, we have just delivered Achel 8 to Smokeless and the Esplanade Biermarkt and within a few days it will also be available at Cafe Brussel, La Palette, Mackie's Taigh Oisda and shortly thereafter at St. Veronus in Peterborough and Pub Italia and Vineyards in Ottawa. Be one of the first on your block to try the newest Trappist!!!
