Is the Sarge in the LCBO?

Post by midlife crisis »

I've been trying to find some Sgt. Major in bottles, but it hasn't been in my LCBO for quite a while. I did a product search on the LCBO web site just now, and it says there is no inventory at the moment in any store. Is the Sarge still in the LCBO? Perry? I'd be keen to pick some up if it is coming back.

The Sarge is still in the LCBO system. The site does this from time to time and it scares the bejeezus out of me.
Summerhill, Queen's Quay and Mavis Rd. in Mississauga carry it. It could be that Queen's Quay is out of it at this moment, but I will rectify this on Thursday.

Thanks Perry. My favoured LCBO is Dufferin and Wilson - this is the one that doesn't appear to have had it for some time. I will try Summerhill or Queen's Quay.

Queens Quay had quite a bit last week, but the weekend could have run them out.

I wish Summerhill would restock more often. It's just easy enough for me to get to but annoying to make the trip when they are out. :x

As always, one of the best ways to get a brew into your local LCBO is to talk to the manager and mention that you would like it. They used to have a great deal of influence over what gets stocked, i am not sure if this is still the case, but it never hurts.

In the LCBO search engine, are you typing in "scotch irish" since that works for me. In the past, I've typed in seargant major ipa and nothing would come up.

Jer, it depends on the store and on the manager. If its in a smaller community (ie. Cobourg) the beer will come in. If its in a large downtown location, no so likely. Still, it never hurts to ask...repeatedly :)
