Aaaaarrrrgoes,,I love our Canadian game...I hate/love our team...NFL go to hell...I haven't seen an entire NFL game in 20 years...can't stand waching behemoths trying to make 10 yards on 4 downs...a game for sissies and guys with steroid induced shrunken testicles...where have you gone, Russ Jackson and your pal Ronnie Lancaster...these were ballplayers...Angie Mosca...there was a player...I'm showing my age but I never want to see the NFL in Canada and I would'n't spend a cent to see the Buffalo Billshits play here. They can't cut it in Buffalo so they want to poach up here...stay down there with your chickenshit wings and horrible accents and your burning houses...quite a rant...isn't it? Buffalo makes Cleveland look very good...enough said.
I've had a bad day...both regular and hair.

Wow! What's size of pint glass is in your hand right now?
No kidding.I've had a bad day...both regular and hair.
I'm going to the game as well. I always stock up with decent beer before leaving Toronto.
Be warned: You can't buy beer in Buffalo stores until noon. Kickoff is at 1, so plan ahead.
The stadium beer is the usual swill - I tend to arrive with a full head of steam (so to speak) and nurse a beer at the stadium to coast through.
Prediction - Bills by 14.

The Canadian game is wretched. They use less talented players to play a more difficult version of the game, which does nothing but water down the quality of the game.esprit wrote:Aaaaarrrrgoes,,I love our Canadian game...I hate/love our team...NFL go to hell....
Your loss. Free agency has really spiced up the game.esprit wrote:Aaaaarrrrgoes,I haven't seen an entire NFL game in 20 years...can't stand waching behemoths trying to make 10 yards on 4 downs...
Just for the record the NFL has the strictest drug regulations of any professional sports league.esprit wrote:a game for sissies and guys with steroid induced shrunken testicles...
I can think of 40 NFL quarterbacks better than Jackson and Lancaster.esprit wrote:where have you gone, Russ Jackson and your pal Ronnie Lancaster...these were ballplayers...Angie Mosca...there was a player
I can't wait until the NFL moves a franchise to Toronto, it will give Toronto two teams worth watching (the Raptors and the Bills) which is a hell of a lot better than just the Raptors.esprit wrote:I'm showing my age but I never want to see the NFL in Canada and I would'n't spend a cent to see the Buffalo Billshits play here. Can't wait until the 17th, Monday Nighter in Buffalo against the Browns. Should be a hell of a game. NFL football, Arrogant Bastard and BBQ, doesn't get much better than that.

Pint glass in my hand? I was consuming 4 assorted growlers simultaneously through straws and intravenously while bathing in a tub of Rogue Brutal Bitter..nix that...Molson Canadian. Having had my rant, I still love the Canadian game and have never developed an appreciation for the NFL. I once entered an NFL playoff/Super Bowl pool without ever having watched a game in my life...I won...man did that piss off some people at work. I just hate watching the continued Americanization of our country and culture. Ours is a unique game with a lot going for it...unfortunately, the Argos are not one of the things going for it. I would hate to see the damage done to the CFL with an NFL franchise here although I'm sure they would survive as no other city in Canada would even be considered for an NFL franchise and those great western teams would go on and I'd still watch even if it meant I had to drive to Montreal to see a CFL game. Oskee-wee-wee! OK, I probably wouldn't drive to Hamilton...sorry Mike at Chester's.

Curling...are you kidding...I love the game and played for many years and, if I do say so myself, was not too bad. I have a box full of trophies somewhere in this house. Nothing is more Canadian than hitting the curling rink, drinking a ton of bad beer (or rye & ginger) and then hurling those rocks down the ice. For my first few years I had an attractive young blonde female skip and her cries of "Harder, harder" still reverberate in my mind. I've meant to join a club again but it always seems like the season has started by the time I figure out I should have signed up. Belonged to Avonlea for several years and High Park is very nearby...man, I miss the cool wind up my kilt and the way it makes my sporn feel.
I manage to find a booth selling Sam Adams Lager and Oktoberfest at the game.
Actually, it was quite easy to find... no more than 25 feet from the turnstile.
Please don't get too offended when I say this, but reading or listening to someone's rants about the CFL as being better than the NFL is one of my least favourite things to do. In my mind, the ranter comes off as being a deluded crank, one who would prefer to watch a high school level production of Shakespeare than a performance at Stratford. Or one who would rather eat at the Olive Garden than at a fine Italian bistro.
I wonder if there are a few people in the UK who prefer watching the Scottish Third Division to the Premier League?
